The open 2015/16 PTO Board positions and responsibilities are:

(Co) President(s) Responsibilities of the (Co) President(s) include: presiding over
general membership and Board of Directors meetings; acting as spokesperson for the
organization; determining PTO goals and priorities in conjunction with the principal;
representing the PTO at faculty meetings; convening ad hoc committees as necessary;
acting as ex-officio member on all committees; approving expenditures up to $100 after
consulting with the treasurer; and reviewing annual committee reports at school year’s
end. The term of office is two years. The President position may be shared by two
people.

(Co) Vice President(s) Responsibilities of the (Co) Vice Presidents include: sharing the
responsibility of attending and assisting with PTO events; and acting as chairperson in
the absence of the President. The term of office is one year with the option of serving
two consecutive terms. The Vice President position may be shared by two people.

Treasurer Responsibilities of the Treasurer include: accepting and maintaining all funds
in approved bank accounts; keeping accurate statement of accounts; presenting
account status at monthly PTO meetings; maintaining the PTO checkbook; preparing
checks for co-signature; and submitting the annual PTO budget for approval at the first
general membership meeting. The term of office is two years with the option of serving
two consecutive terms.

(Co) Recording Secretary Responsibilities of the Recording Secretary include: keeping
the minutes and attendance of all PTO Board, general membership and special
meetings; sharing approved meeting minutes with the membership; acting as custodian
of meeting minutes during the tenure. The term of office is one year with the option of
serving two consecutive terms. The Recording Secretary position may be shared by two
people.

Corresponding Secretary Responsibilities of the Corresponding Secretary include:
overseeing communications for the organization; maintaining a file of correspondence
pertaining to PTO business; notifying the Board of Directors of all regular and special
meetings; checking the PTO mailbox and notifying recipients of mail; maintaining the
PTO calendar in front of the main office; advising the listserve manager of upcoming
PTO activities and events for posting; submitting PTO event building permits; convening
a Nominating Committee each March and acting as one of its members. The term of
office is one year with the option of serving two consecutive terms.
