PTO End of Year Letter 2015

Final 2014-2015 Letter from your
It’s hard to believe that the 2014-2015 school year is coming to an end! A friend said
something profound that has stuck with me recently “The days go slow, but the years go fast.”
Never does that feel truer than this year. And I feel that each year will go by even faster as my
kids get older.
This is my last PTO newsletter as my term of the position of President has ended effective the
end of this school year. It has been a pleasure to be President at Cassingham for the past 2
years. I would like to thank my current board, Rhonda Brotherton, Jill Russ, Toby Paine, and Liz
Bloebaum for their service this year. I would also like to thank everyone who has volunteered
for different PTO initiatives this year. We cannot do it without all of your help and support! It
truly takes a village.  Elections for next year’s PTO board will be held at our final PTO meeting
on Tuesday, May 12 at 2:00 in the conference room off of the office.
I plan to still be involved with PTO next year, and I hope you will also. I am excited about some
of the things our board has been working on.

PTO Survey: Be on the lookout for a survey to come to you in the near future. As a
PTO, we are interested in your feedback regarding the initiatives that we currently have.
Your feedback is invaluable in ensuring we are doing the right things for our school.
Here are some of the questions you will be asked:
o What PTO activities do you attend? What don’t you attend and why?
o How would you like to see us spend our money to better the school?
o Do you volunteer? If not, why?
Grade level representatives: We would like to have 2 people from each grade to serve
as PTO representatives. Responsibilities include attend PTO meetings and be the
communication liaison between the parents in your grade and the board. More details
to follow.
Fundraisers: We will be changing up the fundraisers for next year. We still plan to have
a wrapping paper type sale, but are planning to go with another company that has a
better selection and more variety in their catalogs. In addition, we are looking at a few
other fundraiser options.
Again, I would like to thank you for a great year here at Cassingham. I hope your summer is
warm and we look forward to seeing you at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year.
