& Teacher Certification Program
taught by Sandra Kessel, Carrie Morgan, Deanna Nagle, Alysha Pfeiffer,
Megan Ridge Morris, and Jessie Thompson
This program is registered and approved by
the National Yoga Alliance, and those who
complete all components of the program will be
certified to teach, and eligible to apply for RYT
(Registered Yoga Teacher) status at the 200Hour level. The Yoga Loft 200-Hour In-Depth Yoga Study and
Teacher Certification Program is a comprehensive
course designed to deepen your understanding of
Yoga, develop your personal practice, and prepare
you to effectively share your love of yoga with others.
This program is for aspiring teachers and for all
students with a desire to learn more about Asana (the
postures), Anatomy & Alignment, Yoga Philosophy,
Pranayama & Breathing, and Restorative Yoga. Our
curriculum also emphasizes many important aspects
of Teaching Methodology and The Art of Sequencing,
and offers students a fun and supportive environment
in which they can develop these skills. Our graduates
are recognized for their excellence, and are currently
teaching at Yoga Studios, Colleges and Universities,
Health Clubs, Spas, Retreat Centers, Hospitals and
more. TOPICS WE WILL COVER:
ASANA CLINICS
This aspect of the program will deepen your
personal practice and develop your understanding
of sun salutations, standing poses, backbends,
forward bends, twists, inversions, arm balances and
restorative poses. You will learn each asana from an
anatomical and energetic perspective, and how to
align the body for maximum safety and benefit. CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
PHILOSOPHY In your study of yogic philosophy, you will discover
how the ancient wisdom of Pantajali’s Yoga
Sutras can connect you to your heart and mind,
enabling you to live your life with a greater sense
of awareness and fulfillment. Lively in-class
discussions of vital concepts of Yoga Philosophy
will provide you with a level of understanding that
extends beyond the classroom into your personal
practice, and to every aspect of your life.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY
We will discuss and practice teaching methodology
including how to teach beginners, hands-on
adjustments, how to deal with common
misalignments, how to use props and much more.
You will have the opportunity to participate in
practice teaching sessions in which you will receive
personalized feedback. PRANAYAMA AND BREATHING
This topic of study begins with an overview of the
anatomy and physiology of how we breathe. We will
then take a fresh look at the essential act of breathing,
and how it applies to and informs our practice.
THE ART OF SEQUENCING
We will examine how to safely sequence the
postures to create classes that are well balanced
and include a clear understanding of how the body
works, both anatomically and energetically. You
will have the tools to be able to sequence a wide
variety of classes that are uniquely your own, and
incorporate principles that apply to many styles and
levels of yoga. • Attendance in all sessions (make-ups for missed classes must be completed
within 2 years of the end date of your original certification program)
• Completion of all written homework & reading assignments
• Attendance in 24 public yoga classes at The Yoga Loft
(classes are not included in the cost of the Certification program)
• Upon completion of course requirements, students must attend 12 additional
classes for observation and analyses.
• Satisfactory completion of a Final Exam and Teaching Assessment
The Yoga Loft is proud to offer two distinct 200-Hour In-Depth Yoga Study and Teacher Certification
