TOWN HALL MEETING SUMMARY PRESIDENT’S OVERVIEW Bill Hurt provided a “State of the Community” address. Completed Projects The Fairways o The dead and dying landscape was removed. o Sign was cleaned and repainted. Flag Pole installed at Main Gatehouse. Pothole repairs throughout the community. Main Gate Sign and Lighting repaired and cleaned. New Gate Readers installed. Upcoming Projects Utility Boxes and Vaults are being repaired and repainted throughout the community. 2015 Road Repair Project Roads throughout the community will be repaired and/or resurfaced Upgrading Street Lighting to LED lamps for energy efficiency. Installing landscaping at the Fairways sign. Painting and Refreshing Gatehouse. Drain Structures being cleaned and evaluated. Quarterly Community Newsletter. UPDATE ON THE GARDEN OF THE GODS CLUB PLANS The Garden of the Gods Club is currently planning to hold a meeting for residents and their members on April 21st. You will receive notification once the date, location and time have been firmed up. KCPOA FINANCIAL REPORT Paul Clarkin (Treasurer) presented a summary review of KCPOA’s financial wellbeing. The community has a healthy reserve fund of over $2.5 million, and this strength is not only important in the ability of KCPOA to meet ongoing needs within Kissing Camels, but also adds to the overall value of our property. ROAD MAINTENANCE REPORT The 2015 Road Repair project has an expected cost of $570,000. Residents will be notified in advance of road repairs in your area. Projects are expected to start mid-April. 1 REPORT ON FIRE MITIGATION Shari Tighe reviewed the Fire Mitigation Project. As of the Town Hall meeting 58 residents have worked with Colorado Springs Fire Department for fire mitigation. The goal of the community is to receive a nationally recognized “Fire Wise” designation. The $500 stipend is still available for homeowners who have not taken advantage of this opportunity. Shari thanked the Garden of the Gods Club and Sunrise for allowing KCPOA to further mitigate the skirt area around the perimeter of the community. Tall Timbers did a wonderful job cleaning up the area. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the Fire Mitigation Grant by contacting Ashley Whitworth (CSFD) at 719- 385-7493. ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL AND COVENANT GUIDELINE REVISIONS David Puerta discussed the experience of the current Architectural Control Committee members and the new mission statement and goals of the ACC. Dave thanked previous committee members for their hard work in setting the standards for the community and advised current proposed revised guidelines are under review by legal counsel. SECURITY IN KCE TRAFFIC SAFETY ISSUES Mark Davies presented a summary of the Traffic Safety Task Force and different ways they are recommending that the KCPOA consider for regulating vehicle speed on KCPOA roads. o o o o o Modify your driving habits Use your cruise control Flashing speed indicators installed throughout the community Speed Bumps and Speed Humps Have Security issue traffic citations and fines ENHANCED VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM The new cameras were installed at each of the gates and at key intersections throughout the community. Photos of each camera location were shown. ACCESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM The Gate Access Management from ABDI is in its final stages of implementation. Security is being trained on the new system and residents will be receiving instructions and log-in information to manage and update their approved guest lists. The new system will allow residents to update information on-line or with their mobile devices. Guards will be able to verify and log-in guests at their vehicles with one touch. ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM Bill reviewed the new RFID Sticker Tag system for Gate Entry. Much like the E-470 system, a sticker tag will be affixed to the right side of the windshield. The new readers are already installed at the gates. Notice of the procedures for the installation of these RFID tags on resident registered vehicles will be sent soon. 2 RESIDENT DIRECTORY After receiving numerous requests for a KCPOA Resident Directory, residents may now go to www.kcestatespoa.com to fill out their authorization forms and access the KCPOA Resident Directory. The Directory will be available ONLINE ONLY. If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie at 719-623-2655. SPRING CLEAN UP Our Annual Spring Clean Up is scheduled from April 10 – April 20. Dumpsters will be located on Moonrise Court. As a reminder, these dumpsters are for personal use ONLY. Please contact the management office for a list of approved items.
