! Rummage Sale, Sat, June 6, 7-11am in Café:
The committee planning the KKHS 20th Anniversary
Celebration is hosting a rummage sale in the school
cafeteria on Sat, June 6, from 7-11am. This rummage
sale is a fundraiser for the 20 th Anniversary Celebration
as well as the start up for the Kekaulike Foundation &
Scholarship program! (This is not a DOE sponsored
event.)

Wed-Th, June 3-5, 1:30-5:30pm:
The KKHS 20th Anniversary Committee is asking staff,
parents & community members for rummage sale
items. Gently used clothing & housewares may be
donated on Wed, June 3 rd from 1:30 - 5:30pm, and Th,
June 4 th from 1:30 - 5:30pm in the KKHS school
cafeteria. Please use the back (Haleakala Highway)
entrance. Your support will enable the Committee to
coordinate a community celebration of the first 20
years of King Kekaulike High School (1995-2015).
Thank you for your much appreciated assistance in
ensuring our 20th Anniversary is well celebrated in our
community!!
! For Graduating Seniors - Free College
Help Over the Summer: The Educational
Opportunity Center (EOC) at UH Maui College will be
available to help with your graduates’ college questions
& needs. They are located on the UH Maui College
campus in the Hookipa Building. Seniors, already
EOC participants, may walk-in or schedule
appointments by calling 984-3286. It is easy for
seniors to come EOC participants. EOC is a college
admissions program that helps Maui County adults &
graduating seniors get into college on Maui or
elsewhere. Services are free & include college
admissions & financial aid advising. Visit their website

staff will be chaperones at UHMC's Celebrate
Reading event.
! Staff Appreciation Luncheon, Wed, May
6, Café: Our PTSA is again
covering the cost of this year’s
catered staff luncheon on Wed,
May 6 th in the cafeteria after
school.
Donations: We are kindly
asking for donations of desserts, paper products,
gift cards in small denominations & door prizes.

helping the day of the luncheon, that would be

! Steel Guitar Demo: The Music Dept. is
having a steel guitar demonstration Friday
morning by internationally-known musicians Greg
Sardinha, Jeff Au Hoy, & Eddie Palama.
Members of this trio have played with the likes of
Gabby Pahinui, Danny Kalekini, the Peter Moon
Band, & the Brothers Cazimero, & will be
stopping by KKHS before performing at the Maui
Steel Guitar Festival this weekend in Kaanapali.

8: It’s a Class Spirit Competition
between the classes as well as a
statewide contest. The top school that
collects the most phone books wins cash! Drop
off at the main office or at Ms. Kihara's room,
G206. And remember to write your favorite class
to receive points - C/O 2015, 2016, 2017 or 2018!
For Maui, schools that collect the most pounds
will be awarded cash prizes of: 1st Place, $800;
2nd=$600; 3rd=$400; 4th=$300 & 5 th=$200.

Principal, & will be returned at the end.
