Benalla Weekend
5th – 8th June 2015
Arrival Time: Any time after 4pm Friday 5th June.
Departure Time: 11 am Monday 8th June.
Consisting of dormitory style accommodation, the cost for the weekend will be $50 per person for food and
accommodation. (children under 2 are free).
A deposit of $10 per person is required as soon as possible to secure your booking.
Balance of payment is required on or before 30 th May 2015.
Benalla Open Day entry: $7 per competitor. (Please provide names and ages of all competitors to
enable us to register your entry).
What to bring: Sleeping Bag (or sheet and doona)
Pillow
Torch
Club uniform and runners
Warm clothes, coats and hats
Chair for around fire
Footballs/Basketballs (optional)
Musical instruments/costumes/props (optional)
Snacks if required
Food Supplied:
Breakfasts: Bacon, eggs and baked beans (Saturday only)
Weetbix, cornflakes
Milk, Fruit Juice
Toast, margarine, jam, vegemite and peanut butter
Lunches: Sandwiches (Saturday and Sunday) Sandwich bread, lunch meats,
cheese, tomato, lettuce and spreads available).
Pop top juice/Prima drinks, fruit and sandwich bags are provided to take
lunch to the Benalla Open Day on Sunday (BBQ food and snacks
can also be purchased at the venue)
Saturday Dinner:
Pasta and choice of 2 sauces (Bolognaise and Carbonara)
Tinned fruit and ice cream
Sunday Dinner:
Barbeque meats – Sausages and hamburgers
Bread, salad, baked potato, sour cream and tomato/barbeque sauce
Apple crumble and ice cream
Snacks available:
Apples, bananas, oranges and mandarins, marshmallows to cook in fire.
Tea, Coffee and Milo drinks are also available all weekend.
Please bring any other snacks and drinks that you require for the weekend.
Proposed menu is subject to change depending on availability, etc.
Upon arrival, guests must nominate a duty time to help with preparation of one or more meals.
Children are also expected to help sweep the floors and clear dishes after meals.
Activities:
Saturday: Camp cooking – Make damper to cook over the campfire
Canoeing – Try your hand at canoeing in Lake Nillahcootie
Tug of War – Join a team and help drag your opponents over the line.
Saturday Evening:
Sunday:
Connect 4 championships – Games night in the hall.
Benalla Little Athleticss Open Day – Cheer on your teammates as they
run through the bush to the finish line.
Sunday Evening: Benalla’s Got Talent – Tell a joke, sing, dance, or do something silly.
Everyone is encouraged to get up with a group or on their own and
entertain, so be prepared!
BYO Musical instruments, costumes, props and silliness.
Prizes to be be awarded.
Other Activities:
Relax by the campfire that will be burning all weekend.
Play cops and robbers in the dark (bring plenty of torches and batteries).
