LPCS Parents,
Don’t Drop School-Year Routines
Thank you for your support during Phase II of the
PARCC exams. We greatly appreciate it. We only
have a few more weeks of school left but we have
so much planned for our students. Please take a
look at the Student Life section of this newsletter
to see all of the planned activities.
Please encourage your child to review all
homework that is required of them. As we move
into the last few weeks of school, students should
continue to work hard and do their very best and
finish the school year strong. End-of-Year exams
are coming up on May 21-22 and 26-28. These
exams will factor in as 40% of their final grade. If
you should have any academic concerns, please
contact your child’s AQC (Academic Quality
Controller).
We always welcome your concerns and ideas.
Please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here
to be of service to you.
Sincerely,
Vickie Carroll
Enrollment (2015-2016)
We are currently enrolling K-2nd and 6th-8th
grades for the 2015-2016 school-year.
Additional grades will be added each year
until we become a K-8th grade program.
Please contact the front office for additional
information.
Summer vacation is almost here. For many
families, it’s time to relax. But some routines
should stay in place. Children should read every
day. Reading is one of the most important school
skills, and it fades without practice. Some families
read for 30 minutes right after lunch. It’s a nice
way for children and parents to have some quiet
time.
Encourage kids to exercise. Obesity is a serious
health risk for kids. Take advantage of good
weather to play outside or go for walks.
Assign chores. Children may not have
“homework,” but they can still work at home.
Chores help kids focus on self-discipline and
responsibility.
