Guided tour through Radio CORAX
All guests and participants of the conference are invited to take part in a guided tour
through the rooms an studios of Radio CORAX.
We meet at the radio station. It´s located 1 minute by foot from the conference venue.

Conference Location Hallischer Saal
From Halle main station
(15min). Leave the station through
the main entrance. Go straight ahead
under the rails to the tram station.
Check if your train ticket includes
the use of local public transport in
Halle. Otherwise, there is an
automat where you can buy a ticket
(cash). The ticket fare (Einzelfahrkarte) for the city center zone amounts to approx. €1.50. Take tram 7 (direction:
Kröllwitz). Get off at station Neues Theater. Turn right (Große Steinstraße ) and left (Barfüßerstraße). Go
ahead and enter the university campus (upstairs). Pass the university main building and enter the last building on
the right corner (benches outside). It's the „Tulpe“ canteen. The conference centre Hallischer Saal is in the 1th floor.

Radio CORAX
From the Conference Location (5min). Cross the street (Universit ätsring) and follow the street
(Unterberg ). Turn left. Radio Corax is on the right side.
Cafe Nöö (Thursday evening)
From city center / Markt. Cross the market place and head for the church at the opposite side. Pass right to the
church (street goes slightly down following the rails). Being down at the far end of the street turn right and again right
before the bridge. Cafe Nöö is on the right side.
Kino & Bar Zazie (Friday night)
From city center / Markt. Go north (the tower on the left side, Galeria Kaufhof on the right), follow the street
(Kleinschmieden, then Große Ulrichstraße). After 500 meters turn left into the Jägergasse and right into
the Kleine Ulrichstraße . You'll find Zazie on the right side opposite to the crossing.
If you need a break, go sightseeing:
Burg Giebichenstein. An ancient castle from 10. century. Today it's a well-known Highschool for Arts and
Design. You can visit the castle and tower. http://www.burg-halle.de
Moritzburg. Castle from late gothic periode. Today it houses exhibitions about modern art.

historic city. The historic city of Halle remained almost undamaged through WW2. Take your time and make a
walk through the narrow streets and old architecture, visit the old market square , the Marienkirche or the Red
Tower in the centre of Halle.
Saline. The old industrial building is close to the Saale river side and contains a museum about 1000 years history of
salt-industry in Halle. Use the chance and visit the nice Saale river side.
