Chief of Staff
Work closely with the Top 4 in strategic planning as well as holding members of the Executive
Staff accountable for their responsibilities. The CoS will work for and promote the progress and
eventual completion of all SGA goals. Responsibilities include conducting weekly staff
meetings, being a resource to the staff, working as a liaison between Top 4 and Executive Staff.
Executive Counsel
Serves as the President’s chief advisor and assistant. This position requires the capability of
understanding by-laws and regulations with strong professional writing skills. Counsel will be
consulted for legal matters and aid the President in most of her responsibilities. Along with legal
responsibility, Executive Counsel may be asked to attend meetings or events on behalf of the
President, and to represent her in an appropriate manner. This is a largely visible role, requiring
discretion and responsiveness.
EVP Assistant
The Executive Vice President Assistant will have high involvement with assisting EVP with
organizing to enhance efficiency and transparency in all facets of Student Government under
EVP’s purview. Another large role will be assisting EVP in being a student representative within
athletics and being well versed in athletic policies. Help advocate, collect student opinion and
cultivate ideas for develop of new facilities and renovations on campus. The assistant will be
integral part of accomplishing goals and tasks related to these areas. The assistant must be
available and actively engaged in all Senate meetings, SGA functions and any other task
assigned by EVP.
AVP Assistant
The Academic Vice President Assistant will be assigned a variety of task by the AVP. The duties
will consist of researching academic advancements, writing reports, and attending meetings with
faculty and staff. The assistant must be proficient in multi-tasking, be time efficient and
adherence to deadlines (at times may be short notice), and be very respectable during meetings.
A lot of research will be performed individually, and will be expected to work quickly and
produce sufficient results. The assistant must be available and actively engaged in all Senate
meetings, SGA functions and any other task assigned by EVP.

SVP Assistant
The Services Vice President Assistant requires dedication to improving student services. Duties
may include attending various service-oriented committees and assisting with various outreach
programs specific to student services. The assistant must be available and actively engaged in all
Senate meetings, SGA functions and any other task assigned by EVP.
Research Specialist
Research Specialist will assist the SGA Executive Officers with research related to SGA goals,
especially those involving changes to university policy. Applicants for this position would
ideally have research experience of some capacity. Much of this research will be collecting and
compiling benchmark institutions and SGA initiatives at the University and other universities,
but is not limited to this. The Research Specialist must have high organizational, research,
Microsoft office (especially Excel) and critical thinking skills.
Administrative Affairs
Administrative Affairs is responsible for supporting all of Executive Staff and the Top Four in
any secretarial duties that are needed. A working knowledge of office etiquette, as well as the
desire to ensure to contribute to the success of the entire Executive Branch. This role is flexible,
helping different staff members and Top Four at different times. Responsiveness is a
requirement, as many tasks will be time sensitive and require immediate consideration.
Director of External Affairs
Will work under the Director of Student Life and is responsible for developing and maintaining a
relationship among various cultural student organizations. Including but not limited to the
Cultural Center, LTBT, Women’s Center, Interfaith Center etc. Top priorities with these
organizations are to communicate the organization's interests, and being a bridge to
organizations.
Will work under the Director of Student Life and is responsible for communicating the interests
of Greek Life with SGA and the University Administration. This liaison will also communicate
to Greek organizations about what SGA can do for them. This individual will also be required to
attend several IFC, Pan-Hellenic, and NPHC meetings and work with the governing presidents of
these units.
Will be in charge of scheduling and administering monthly meetings for the Presidents of all
RSOs on campus. This coordinator will be expected to help foster a relationship between these
organizations and SGA, as well as facilitate communication

Director of Communications
This is a two person position. Both communication directors must be able to work as a team to
satisfy any and all communication needs of the Executive Branch. This may include but is not
limited to: graphic design, website update and maintenance, SGA social media, promotion of
events, live streaming SGA meetings and events, and running Cardinal Cast. Creativity and
innovation are a must for these roles.
Political Coordinator
The upcoming legislative year is extremely important, as the state budget will be on the floor for
consideration. This role will be critical in helping to achieve the goals of K-HELP (Kentucky
Higher Education Lobbying Program) by heading up the lobbying efforts in Frankfort, including
the Rally for Higher Education. Cards in Action will be under this role’s tutelage, including
planning lobbying trips, choosing students for these trips, and turning in weekly reports to the
President. Along with these duties, the Political Coordinator will also be working at the
university to encourage voter turnout for the national, state, and local elections in November, as
well as next year’s SGA elections.
