Free Interest Assessments can help you Choose a Career/Academic Direction
If you know your career goals, don’t let assessment results direct you away from your passion. If you don’t, we recommend both assessment
programs for the most comprehensive results. Follow the directions below to take free assessments through LCC’s Career Services.
1) Visit www.careercruising.com
a. Type “lcc” as the username, and “longview” as the password
i. If you have an account, click Login.
ii. If not, click the down arrow (), and then “Create My
Plan”
iii. Fill in your account information
2) At the top of the screen, click on “Assessments”
a. Name this Matchmaker session (i.e. June 2015)
i. There are a total of 116 questions. Please complete all
questions for the most comprehensive results.
ii. If you get kicked out of the program, click on
assessments and then the name of your matchmaker
assessment to see results or answer more questions.
b. Take the My Skills assessment located in the lower right
hand box – same page as your results.
3) Click on the job titles that interest you most to research them,
bearing in mind that you are better prepared for a job with an
“A” or “B” than you will be for a job with a “C” or “D” next to it.
1) Visit www.wois.org
2) Click on “Create a Portfolio”. It is tiny - above the User ID and
Password in the upper right corner.
a. If you need a Site Key, call 360.442.2330 – The key is
free and will allow you to access LCC’s free site.
b. Register: fill in the bold sections if desired. It is quick. It is
free.
3) Click Assessments in the green list on the left
a. Take the Interest Profiler
i. Upon completion, click on the number that
indicates your highest strength to view careers
that match those categories
b. Take the Career Interest Areas test
i. Click on the category with the highest
compatibility
4) Additional assessments are available and you are welcomed to
explore and utilize all parts of the WOIS site.
