Ruth Graham to be Speaker for National Day of Prayer The second annual national Day of Prayer with a catered luncheon and program will be held as an ecumenical community observance at 11:30 am on May 7 in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, Waynesboro. The message by Ruth Graham, the keynote speaker, will question: “How Did Jesus Pray?” Jay Daniels from 90.1 Spirit FM radio will be guest musician. The program is being coordinated by the Augusta Baptist Association. Reservations should be made before April 30. To make a reservation, checks for $10/person should be made payable to First Baptist Church—Waynesboro; please add a reference to PRAYER on the memo line. Birthing Kits Little things mean a lot — especially when those little things are brought together as United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) kits. Birthing kits are among the items most requested by our overseas partners each year. All you need to do is to write a check payable to UMW for $9.00, put birthing kit on the memo line, and drop it in the collection plate. The Social Concerns Circle will purchase the materials and assemble the kits. Thank you very much! The need is great! Stop Hunger Now Event, April 18 April 18, LARCUM churches will participate in putting together meals for the hungry in the world at Expo for Stop Hunger Now. Main Street will be raising $2500 for the meals. If you make out a check, please make it out to Main Street and note on the memo line of the check and the envelope that the money is designated for Stop Hunger Now. If you plan to participate on April 18, please sign your connection card. You will need to be at Augusta Expo and ready to begin at 10:00 am. Please wear a hat. Church Softball There will be church softball at Barrenridge Fields on Sunday, April 12 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the lower field and on April 19 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the upper field. Please mark your calendar for May 11-17 when our church will be responsible for the concession stand.
