INFORMATION AND RULES
Dear Crafter,
We would like to take this time to invite you to be a part of our new event; the McHenry County Fair’s
Spring Fiber Fling. Our goal is to create an educational event focused on fiber and the process from “Sheep to
Shawl”. It will be a weekend event with various activities and events for the public to take part in, learn, and
purchase anything from art supplies to a finished handmade product. We will have different livestock shows and
demonstrations going on around the grounds for spectators to enjoy. Our goal is to have 2 buildings set up for
our crafters, artisans and fiber related venders with booths set up to sell everything from fiber art supplies
(wool, knitting needles, crochet hooks, cloth, etc.) to finished products (handmade items). We will then have a
third building set up for classrooms where we will have instructors teaching different skill sets at different
experience levels. The classes will consist of, but are not limited to, spinning, weaving, quilting, sewing, knitting,
and fiber animal management classes. We are very excited for the event and cannot wait to give this
educational experience to our community. Thank you for considering being a part of our new and exciting event.

To make sure that the event runs smoothly, we are asking everyone to follow some rules and guidelines:

Set up times for the event will be on Friday, May 15th, 2015 from 10am to 8pm and on Saturday, May
16th, 2015 from 8am to 9am.
Please be sure that you, your items being sold, and any other portion of your display remains in your
booth space and not in the walkway. This is a request by the fire marshal for safety reasons.
You are responsible for the safety of your items.
The building doors will be locked from 8pm on Friday to 8am on Saturday and from 5:30pm on Saturday
until 8am on Sunday.
Crafters may use the main parking lot for set up, take down, and replenishing their items in their booths
before the event opens. Between 10am and 4pm, crafters and volunteers must park in their designated
areas so the main parking lot is open for the public.
At the end of the show, you are responsible to have your booth cleaned up and all garbage placed in the
dumpster outside. Any garbage left within your space will result in a $15 fee.
It is required that tables are covered almost to floor on the customer’s side. Any extra merchandise
must be out of sight during the show.
Each vendor will be provided 2 chairs for each booth space purchased.
Crafters handle all the customer transactions and taxes.
There is one 110 volt 20 amp electric outlet available for each booth space. For additional outlets, there
is an $8 hook-up fee. You must furnish your own extension cords.
There are no refunds for cancellations after April 15th and crafters are expected to stay for the entire
event.
Insurance Information Our insurance carrier requires a certificate of liability insurance from each
crafter. If you are not able to provide one, we can provide coverage, as we do at the Fair, for
$50. Please check with your agent about coverages you may already have in place. For more
