2015 ACAD ALUMNI HONOUR AWARD
Recognizes the significant contributions made over a number of years
by ACAD alumni in their local communities and beyond. The awards are
presented to alumni who have made outstanding contributions to their
professions, communities, or society-at-large.
TD INSURANCE MELOCHE MONNEX ALUMNI CAREER AWARD
Recognizes alumni who are establishing their career as an emerging artist,
designer or arts administrator. All nominees for 2015 Alumni Awards are
considered. This award is adjudicated on merit of work and statement of
the Nominee.
BIOGRAPHY
Joey Camacho aka Raw & Rendered is a Canadian freelance graphic and 3D designer based in Vancouver, BC. He has
created conceptual and creative design work for reputable global brands as well as passionate local companies. He
specializes in comprehensive brand development and 3D design and is a graduate from the Alberta College of Art +
Design with a degree in Visual Communications Design in 2010. He has gone on to pursue a wide range of local and
international creative initiatives, establishing himself as a sought after motion and graphic designer, who is sure to
experience continued success throughout his career.
NOMINEE ACHIEVEMENTS
• Currently enterprising as a freelance designer, clients include local names such as Briggs Kitchen + Bar, Junction 9
Yoga + Pilates, Diner Deluxe, Deville Coffee, Beakerhead and international brands such as Under Armour, Infiniti and Adidas.
• Creative lead and member of the Board of Directors for Motionball, a charity supporting the Special Olympics. In 2014, Calgary Motionball raised more than $60,000.
• Founded Studio Coalition in 2012: A collective of fellow alumni and other industry professionals, who come together
on specific projects to make a difference in the community.
• Collaborated with Studio Coalition in 2013 to present Overhaul with musician Calvin Locke to raise funds for a young
patient with brain cancer. The event brought together notable ACAD alumni, designers, illustrators, artists, musicians,
and guest speakers who helped to raise more than $15,000 for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation and Kids
Cancer Research.
• Recently completed a 365 day project “Progress Before Perfection” where he created a piece of work every day for a
year in order improve his craft. 3D Artist Magazine + Intel & Vice’s The Creators Project featured the project.
