Congratulations!
Pregnancy marks the beginning of an exciting journey toward parenthood, however, for many
the trail may be uncharted and unfamiliar. At Saint Alphonsus, we offer a variety of different
class options as you move toward becoming a parent.
We believe that becoming a parent is a process, not a performance. There is no “right way”
to give birth. We offer various childbirth classes to give you more options and to better meet
everyone’s individual preferences. Saint Alphonsus is the only Lamaze® approved provider in
the Treasure Valley, which means we offer smaller classes with certified Lamaze® Instructors.
In our Hypnobirthing® classes, we offer you the talent of a Certified Hypnobirthing®
instructor and Hypnotherapist.
For new parents we understand that entering a hospital can be a confusing and overwhelming
situation. That is why we focus on being “family-centered”. Come for a Prenatal Tour and
visit our Family Maternity Center and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. During
the tour you will have an opportunity to preview the private family suites, which provide
soothing and luxurious accommodations. Additionally, take this opportunity to meet our
committed staff who are focused on providing outstanding, compassionate care to each and
every one of our new mothers, and the families and friends that support them.
Please take time to look through our many options for childbirth classes and parenting
classes, as well as programs for support and encouragement throughout your family’s life.
We are here to answer any questions from helping you find a physician to what classes help
prepare you for the birth of your baby.
You will remember the day you give birth for the rest of your life. Therefore, we take pride
and joy in being part of your experience. And we hope we will continue to serve you as your
children grow.

touch ranges light to moderate.

Deep Tissue / Connective Tissue Massage
This combination of modalities is practiced when
deeper layers of muscle have become tight, whether
a result of overuse and strain or a response to
surrounding muscle creating opposing stress. The
pressure of touch may vary from moderate to very
deep, and may be short lived or sustained for a period
of time, depending on the overall result desired.
Pressure is NEVER more than can be tolerated by the
client. Those requiring this type of massage may need
to repeat the therapy several times to achieve full and
total release of the muscles involved.
