Executive Director Job Description
Objectives of the Position:
The Executive Director has full responsibility for the pregnancy center (and its medical aspects), which
includes the implementation of the policies and procedures approved by the Board of Directors
within the limits of the center’s budget. The primary areas of responsibility will be administrative,
training, development and public relations. This is a full-time position.
Reports to: The Board of Directors
Supervises: All paid staff and volunteers
Qualifications:
1. Must be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior
and Lord
2. Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual purity
3. Agree with and be willing to uphold Statement of Faith and expresses full agreement with
corporation’s Statement of Principle, Mission Statement, Articles of Incorporation, By-laws, and
other operating documents
4. Have a bachelor’s degree preferably in a related field, or related experience equivalent
5. Have two years of experience as a volunteer or employee in a crisis pregnancy center/medical clinic
ministry, Care Net experience preferred.
6. Have significant experience in an administrative position with direct experience in supervising paid
staff in an efficient and professional office
7. Have two years of experience in marketing, fundraising, and public relations/development
8. Exhibit strong skills in interpersonal communication, public speaking, writing and effective media
relations
9. Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, encouragement and direction for the staff members
and volunteers
10. Be able to develop and implement strategic plans and goals for the center
11. Be able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision
Essential Functions:
I. Administration
a. Provide managerial support, direction, supervision and training to all paid staff.
b. Conduct written and oral evaluation of staff on a yearly basis
c. Coordinate with treasurer, directors and other staff on annual budget that is presented to the
board of directors for approval
d. Oversee and ensure that the clinic (center’s) donations and bills are managed per the
clinic/(center’s) financial control procedures
e. Oversee expenditure for budgeted expenses of center and oversee purchase requests
f. Oversee the compilation of statistical reports, accurate record keeping and monthly reporting to
the board
g. Coordinate a yearly calendar for the ministry and implementation of special events
h. Ensure that all center policies are carried out, as well as coordinate with appropriate staff
member(s) new policies to be approved and implemented
i. Hold consistent meetings with staff to be comprised of client and staff needs and progress
j. Attend all board meeting and present a monthly report
k. Maintain policies and procedures manual for the operation of the center
l. Oversee management of a donor management program
m. Supervising operations of the medical aspects of the center in association with the Medical
Director, ensuring that the clinic operates legally, according to best practices and in
accordance with IRS guidelines
II. Training
a. Assist staff conducting volunteer training seminars
b. Oversee and supervise volunteer in-service training, volunteer staff meetings, and ensure that
policies and procedures are being followed
III. Development
a. Plan, conduct and work with a committee to execute major fundraising events and direct mail
pieces and newsletters each year
b. Develop and execute a program to appeal to church mission boards for financial support
c. Communicate with donors on a regular basis
d. Involvement with visibility, and possible expansion of the pregnancy center ministry in the
community
e. Obtain feedback and continually assess goals for establishment of effective ministry programs
f. Produce long and short-term objectives to accomplish the ministry goals of the center
g. Develop a yearly development plan
IV. Public Relations
a. Educate the local community, including churches, pastors, and community groups as well as
the professional community about the medical clinic ministry with the goal of obtaining
support and involvement with the ministry
b. Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with pastors and churches in the community
c. Develop and maintain relationships with other ministries/organizations that meet client needs
d. Represent the ministry and services of the medical clinic to the community and the media
e. Develop, oversee and revise promotional materials used in presenting the medical clinic to
clients, community and churches
f. Work closely with the board of directors to promote public awareness of the ministry through
advertisement and church presentations
