MAKING IT AS A FILM/VIDEO ARTIST Saturday, March 28 Kenilworth Square East (1915 E Kenilworth Pl), 5th floor $40 (general public) // $25 Milwaukee Film Members REGISTER NOW: https://milwaukeefilm.formstack.com/forms/03_28_fsevent SCHEDULE: 9:00-9:30am Registration Arrive early for complimentary coffee and pastries to fuel up for the day! 9:30-9:45am Welcome and Opening Remarks Milwaukee Film is excited about our expanding year-round programs for filmmakers and we hope you are too! 9:45-10:45am Opening Keynote Austin-based filmmaker Robin Berghaus will discuss her MFF2014 alum short documentary STUMPED, screen the film, and discuss her current Austin Film Society grant-supported project of expanding the short into a feature. 11:00am-12:15pm Workshop: Achieving Success Beckie Stocchetti, Community Engagement Manager at Chicago’s Kartemquin Films, will lead the group in identifying and setting attainable and measureable short and long term goals for filmmaking work. Participants will also share their goals with one another, helping build peer groups to which you can be accountable as you work toward those goals. 12:30-1:30pm Lunch Enjoy a buffet lunch served by Bel Air Cantina. Free for all participants. 1:45-3:30pm Panel: Local Stories Hear from local filmmakers about their recent successes and challenges in making films, screening them at festivals and selling a film. Speakers include: Chris Thompson, Michael Vollmann, Michael Krieger, and Laj Waghray. 3:45-4:45pm Closing Keynote Los Angeles-based filmmaker (and Milwaukee native) Jordana Mollick (Life Partners, MFF2014) will discuss how she’s “made it” in the industry. 5:00-6:00pm Happy Hour Join us at Hotel Foster (2028 E North Ave) for drinks and mingling.
