TO HELP CELEBRATE NATIONAL POETRY MONTH, go online to the Mission Oak High School web site and read the latest edition of the Mission Oak Review - The Poetry Issue. Also, the first fifty people attend tonight’s Writers' Cafe will receive a complementary bound copy of the Poetry Issue. Many of the authors will be there - you can get them to autograph your copy and when they become famous you can sell it on ebay! INTERACT CLUB is collecting items in period 2 classes to donate to the Lighthouse Rescue Mission. Bring your extra unused toiletries including soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc. to your 2nd period class. Collection ends April 24th. Winning class will get a free breakfast from Interact Club. THOSE PLANNING ON PLAYING FOOTBALL next year, there will be a mandatory meeting today during lunch in the gym! THE CITY OF TULARE PARKS & RECREATION Department is currently recruiting for the “2015-2016 Teen Hero Program”. Teen Heroes are high school students who are respected by their peers and the academic community. Once selected, Teen Heroes commit to completing 100 hours of volunteer work or community service. They are role models for children of Tulare and will visit recreation programs and events during the year. Teen Hero representatives also speak to participants about healthy lifestyles and encourage youth to believe in themselves and to not just reach for their goals, but to chase them. Current Juniors who are interested can pick up information and applications in the counseling office. Application Deadline is FRIDAY, April 24, 2015 THE RIVALRY RUN is coming September 19th! The Tulare Joint Union High School District Foundation wants your help to create a poster to advertise our 3rd Annual Rivalry Run. See any Art or Graphic Art Teacher for a copy of the Poster Contest entry form. There will also be forms available in the office. Winning entries from two categories will each get $50!
