8th Grade Semi-Formal
Dear Parents/Guardians of the 8th Grade Class of 2019,
We hope you all received the notice that was emailed earlier this month, announcing the 8th Grade Semi-Formal being
held on Saturday June 13, 2015..
This dance is a wonderful tradition that marks a final celebration of the end of your child’s middle school experience
and the beginning of their high school experience. The following guidelines have been put in place for this event:
Dress:
Girls - Short or tea length dresses. No long dresses. Strapless or thin straps are allowed.
Boys - Dress or khaki pants, shirt and tie. Jackets are optional…No Tuxedos.
Behavior:
Same as with school dances. Please see student handbook. This event is chaperoned by
staff.
Transportation:
Students will be dropped off and picked up by a parent or guardian in a designated area
that will be clearly marked. Limousines and other formal forms of transportation are not
allowed.
Attendees:
Attendance is limited to Miscoe Hill 8th Grade Students only. No students will be
permitted to leave early unless released by a chaperone to a parent or guardian. Parents are
welcome to attend for the first 30 minutes for picture taking (6:30pm – 7pm)
This special event is funded by donations from parents, vendors and volunteers. A suggested
donation of $20 per student would be graciously accepted and appreciated to help ensure that this is
a wonderful evening of dancing and fun for the students.
Later this spring, each student will receive a personal invitation. In the meantime, please complete the attached
permission slip and return it along with a check made payable to MURSD, to Mrs. Ann Meyer by April 1, 2015. No
student will be turned away for the inability to pay. Please contact Mrs. Meyer if financial assistance is needed.
There are opportunities for you to help with this wonderful event. You will be receiving an invitation to
SignUpGenius. This will give you the opportunity to help with set up, provide a food item, clean up or simply make
an additional monetary donation towards paper products and other items needed for the event.
