NJCTS Staff Spotlight
Leanne Loewenthal
Family Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator
Q: How long have you worked at NJCTS?
A: I’ve been with NJCTS since June 2013.
Q: What does a day at the office look like for you?
A: I typically spend my day taking calls and emails from families looking for support and
information. I work with families to provide them a referral to a TS specialist, link them to
families in their area, and give them more information about various NJCTS programs,
such as our family retreat weekend and virtual support groups. Families can reach out to
me Monday-Friday by phone or email. I also oversee NJCTS’ volunteer program and coordinate volunteers for office support and events.
Q: Tell us three things about yourself:
• I moved to Denver in 2003 to get my MSW from the University of Denver.
• I drove across country in 2012 with my husband, two kids and our dog
to move back to NJ.
• I have an undergraduate degree in art from Alfred University in New York.
I wanted to be an art historian before becoming a social worker.
