Energy products
Vegetable oils and fats are an important constituent of
feed rations. In terms of nutritional physiology they play
an important role in feeding because they increase the
energy density of the feed – they possess 2.3 times as
much energy as carbohydrates. The biological importance
of fats stems from their function as an energy reserve
and thermoregulator in the form of depot fat. Fats have
a protective function, act as carriers for fat-soluble
vitamins and bind the dust in feed.
The positive effects of using feed fats and oils:

• energy supply suited to requirements
• optimal linoleic acid content for each type of animal
• natural improvement of performance
• binding of dust
All products will be produced according to effective EU
legislation and will be analysed and controlled by
“positive release”.
Noba’s products are modern energy-rich, standardised
feed fat-compounds, based on pure vegetable oils and
fatty acids. The fatty acid composition is important for
optimal growth and carcass quality. The optimizing of the
fatty acid composition is effected predominantly by the
linoleic content (C18:2), which could be vary, according to
application in pig-, poultry- and cattle feed, from 10 –
40%. Polyunsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic and
linolenic acid (C18:3) are essential fatty acids. That
means that they are not synthesised by animal’s body and
must be supplied in the feed. Noba BV developed feed
fat-compounds with a high content of triglycerides, such
as palm oil and a resultant lower FFA content – for better
energy supply and more safety.
