Call for Papers Interdepartmental Graduate Student Workshop on Migration 23 June 2015 Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Oxford This one-day workshop aims to bring together Oxford DPhil students from different departments (e.g. Politics & International Relations, Sociology, History, Social Policy) and Sciences Po PhD students working on migration-related topics. The study of migration is an inherently interdisciplinary field. The wider network of young scholars within and across departments and universities this workshop hopes to build offers a meeting place to exchange ideas, discuss research challenges and findings and think about ways in which experiences can be shared more regularly in the future. There is no particular theme for this workshop, but research that engages with economic, social and political remittances, the integration of immigrants into host societies, national and international policy-making on migration, and the role of refugees and diasporas is particularly welcome. The thematic focus of the workshop panels will be developed on the basis of the submitted proposals. Oxford and Sciences-Po postdocs and faculty members will serve as discussants. The workshop is funded by the OXPO Research Group, a cooperation between the University of Oxford and Sciences Po (the travel and accommodation costs of Sciences Po graduate students will be covered by OXPO). If you are interested in presenting a paper based on your doctoral research, please contact Prof Gwendolyn Sasse ([email protected]) with a one-paragraph abstract by 20 April. If you want to attend the workshop without presenting a paper please confirm by 1 May.
