Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
JOIN THE WORLD OF HEALTH CARE AS A CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT
99% of our certified nurse assistant graduates have been offered employment in the health care field. Join one
of our CNA training programs offered through Continuing Education at Midlands Technical College and start a
new career in about 2 months.
WHAT IS A CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT?
Certified nurse assistants (CNAs) work directly with residents or clients in long term care facilities, hospitals,
home health care, doctor’s offices, and a variety of other health care settings. CNAs (under the supervision of
nurses) play a vital role by providing physical care and emotional support to patients.
WHAT DO CNAs STUDY?
The CNA course is a 102-hour program that prepares students for certification as a nursing assistant in the state
of South Carolina. Students receive training in basic nursing care, including a combined curriculum of
classroom lecture, simulated laboratory care, and hands-on clinical experience in a Columbia area long term
care facility. The course prepares students to successfully pass the Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Test.
