Under the general direction on the supervisor on duty, and reporting
to the Assistant Manager, Physical Activity, this position is
responsible for the delivery of excellent customer service, support to
physical activity programs and general monitoring of the field house
facility, and other program areas as required, and receiving day-today direction, supervised by the manager on duty.
The position requires well developed customer service skills and
excellent interpersonal communication skills in order to deal with the
multiple and difficult situations that arise between members
competing for the use of space and equipment. The diverse
population using the facilities sometimes creates conflicting demands
and a variety of needs that must be considered when making
decisions and responding. Incumbent is required to physically patrol
areas with very limited “resting time”.

Qualifications:
Education:
Enrolled in a University program
Experience:
Familiarity with the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Activity and
the programs and services
Certifications required:
 Standard First Aid certificate issued by Canadian Red Cross,
St. John Ambulance or Lifesaving Society not more than 3
years prior to September 8th, 2015
 Basic Rescuer/Level C CPR certificate issued not more than 1
year prior to September 8th, 2015

Mandatory Training
 Must show proof of having completed Health and Safety
training
 AODA training
 In-house ERT 2 training for all staff with first aid as a job
requirement (one-time only)
