PASTOR JOSH CROCKETT INFORMATION Salvation Testimony: At an early age I became aware of my sinful condition. I was old enough to see my depravity in action through my disobedience to my parents, God’s authority in my life. My young heart was in a state of rebellion toward God. I needed his forgiveness and a new heart. I needed to be washed in the blood of the Lamb in order to be at peace with God. Before I could read, my mother taught me portions of Scripture verses that corresponded with each letter in the alphabet. I praise the Lord for godly parents who reared me in a godly home. While my father was in evangelism, he led me to the Lord at a very young age after I heard a Sunday School lesson about Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Call to the ministry: In middle school I surrendered to full time Christian ministry under the preaching of Dr. Ron Comfort, who used to be the staff evangelist at our church. In college I felt God’s calling me to the office of a pastor. Throughout my four years in grad school and seminary and now ten years in the ministry, God has confirmed that call. I’m humbled by God’s work of grace in my life and high calling to minister His Word to His people. Philosophy of ministry of the church: I believe that the church’s mission and key purposes are to glorify God by: Exalting the Savior: I believe the primary goal of the church is to glorify the Lord (Eph. 3:21). He is glorified through our preaching and teaching of the Word (Ac. 5:42; 2 Cor. 2:12), singing (Eph. 5:16-20; Col. 3:16) and praying (Col. 4:3; Jude 20). Evangelizing sinners: The church is called to actively carry out our Savior’s Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20) by evangelizing the lost and making disciples. This should be accomplished locally by sharing the Gospel and globally by sending missionaries to the uttermost parts of the world (Ac. 1:8; 13:1-4). Edifying the saints: The church is called to build each other up in Christ through encouragement, ministering and the Word (Ac.6:2-4; Eph. 4:12-13; Col. 1:28; Heb. 10:25).
