Some of these myths include: older adults are at a time in life when sexuality no longer matters, they are not engaging in sexual activity, and therefore sexual health is not important, and if older adults have questions or concerns about sexuality they will ask a healthcare provider. This presentation takes a close look at all the reasons why our systems have not been more successful in these goals, defines and delineates the concept of social capital and offers a community-building perspective designed to shift the culture to be more inclusive and supportive to all people.
