Connect Student Guide:
Contacting your instructor
In this guide you will learn how to:
 Send an email to your Instructor.
 How to view and manage sent emails.
 Send a pager message to your Instructor.
Before your start:
Log in to Connect: connect.tafeqld.edu.au
Username: (your student number) and Password
Then, select your Unit from the Unit dropdown menu in the Minibar.
Send an email to your Instructor
1. Select Tools from the Navbar.

2. Select Classlist from Tools context menu.
3. The Classlist shows all students enrolled in your unit and your Instructor.

4. Select dropdown arrow next to Instructor's name.
5. Select Send Email.

6. Add your Subject; Email message and select Send. Your email will be
immediately sent to your Instructor.

How to view and manage sent emails
1. Select Email from the Communication context menu.
3. Select Sent Mail.

4. A record of all sent emails will display.
5. Click on email Subject (e.g. Assessment 1) to view sent message.

6. Sent email message and date emailed will display.
Manage sent emails
1. Select Settings

2. Select checkbox to send a copy of each message to specific email address.
You are also able to add an Email Signature block in this area.

Send a pager message to your Instructor
1. Select Message alerts icon from the Minibar.
2. Select Go to Pager.

3. Your Inbox displays unread and read pager messages.
4. The Friends tab keeps people that you frequently contact in one place.
You can add and remove friends to your list.

5. Classlist shows everyone enrolled in unit, including the Instructor.
You’ll see who is currently online (green dot) and who you have saved as
a Friend (icon on right).
6. Select your Instructor to send a pager message.

7. You have the option to Add to Friends list.
8. Add your pager message and select Send. Your Instructor will be instantly notified
of your pager message.
