Please note: Cellular and BlackBerry phones may disconnect unexpectedly from WebEx. Ensuring access to WebEx Click the following links to ensure that you can access the WebEx site and receive WebEx e-mail confirmations: • • Access WebEx at https://cna.webex.com/ Receive e-mails from [email protected] If you cannot open the WebEx site with the link provided, please contact your IT department (if you’re at work) or your Internet provider (if you’re at home) to unblock your access. You should also have these services make sure you can receive [email protected] confirmation e-mails. How to update your computer If your computer has never been used to attend a WebEx session, it must be made WebEx-ready at least four days in advance. To do so, first clear the cookies from your browser, then run the following three computer tests. Do not wait until the last minute. 1. Click and follow the instructions: https://cna.webex.com/tc0506l/trainingcenter/jsp/meeting/setupresult.jsp?siteurl=cna 2. Click and select Check Now for each option that will follow: https://cna.webex.com/tc0601l/trainingcenter/meeting/systemdiagnosis.do?siteurl=cna&sup portUCFToolkit=3 3. Click, enter your name and e-mail address, then click Join: http://www.webex.com/testmeeting.html. If successful, you will see a confirmation message that indicates your computer July 2014 1 How to prepare for CNA’s Webinar Series: Progress in Practice is properly set up and ready to attend a WebEx session. Click X in the top right corner to close your browser. If you are unable to successfully complete any of these three tests, contact your IT department or WebEx Technical Support at 1-866-229-3239. Choose Option 1, then Option 1. A support technician will be able to guide you in setting up your computer to access WebEx. Registering for a webinar To register: 1. Go to the upcoming live CNA webinar schedule from the CNA Webinar Series page. 2. Click on the link Register for the webinar you wish to attend 3. Fill out the required information 4. Click on the Register Times zones Once registered, double-check the start time if you live outside Ontario with the following link: http://www.worldtimeserver.com/meeting-planner.aspx (see example below left). 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. On the time server planning page: Select the date of the session In Location 1, choose Ontario In Location 2, choose your own province or territory (see example below). Click Submit A table will pop up listing the Ontario time and the corresponding time in your area. Under each listing (see example below right) will be a time indicating when you should join for the live webinar. For example, if you live in British Columbia, you will need to join by 9 a.m. if the time to join the webinar in Ontario is 12 p.m. 2 July 2014 How to prepare for CNA’s Webinar Series: Progress in Practice Confirmation e-mails Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive a WebEx confirmation e-mail with three important items: 1. Your registration number 2. The session number 3. Your unique link to direct you to WebEx when it’s time to join the session Be sure to save your confirmation e-mail. You will need it to join the live webinar. As well, you’ll receive a reminder e-mail the day before the live webinar. Joining a webinar is a two-step process Step 1 Click the link in your WebEx confirmation e-mail (see example below) to go to the WebEx site. Your registration number should appear in the Registration ID box on the Join Session Now page. If not, type in or copy/paste the registration number from your WebEx confirmation e-mail into the box. Then, click Join Now (see example below). (If you can’t find your e-mail confirmation from WebEx, select the click here link below the Join Now button (see example below), enter your e-mail address and click OK. You should immediately receive an e-mail containing your registration number.) July 2014 3 How to prepare for CNA’s Webinar Series: Progress in Practice Step 2 Once your computer is connected to WebEx, an Audio Conference pop-up window will appear on your screen (see example right). To get audio connection, call into the webinar using the following three steps: 1. Using a landline phone, call 1-877-668-4490 (toll free). 2. Enter the access code (nine digits) that appears on your computer screen, followed by the # sign. 3. Enter the unique Attendee ID number (3 to 4 digits) that appears on your computer screen, followed by the # sign. Note: Your unique Attendee ID number is needed to complete your audio connection to the session. When you’ve successfully connected to the webinar, your name will appear in the Participants panel on the right-hand side of your computer screen and will have a telephone icon beside it (see example right). If no telephone icon appears next to your name, note the phone number, the access code and, most importantly, the unique Attendee ID number from the Session Info tab in the upper left of your screen, (see example below right). Then, hang up and call back, using the Session Info numbers. Note: DO NOT log out of WebEx when you call back, your computer is still connected. There is no need to log out. WebEx technical support On the day of a live CNA webinar, if you are having any issues joining, WebEx Support is available at 1-866-5693239. Choose Option 1, then Option 1 again and a technician will help you. 4 July 2014 How to prepare for CNA’s Webinar Series: Progress in Practice Evaluation survey and certificate of participation At the end of each live webinar, you will be redirected to a short online evaluation survey. It takes a few seconds for the webinar to shut down and bring up the survey. Once you have submitted your feedback, you will be able to complete your certificate of participation by typing in your name and printing it for your records. CNA uses the latest version of Acrobat Reader to create certificates of participation with a text box for adding names.
