my why: KEEPING FAMILIES HAPPY, HEALTHY AND STRONG The Escobar Family decatur FAMILY YMCA Programs at the Y help Leanna Escobar, her husband Ernesto, and their three-year-old daughter Azaliea, stay happy, healthy and strong. The Y’s financial assistance program gives the Escobars the opportunity to participate in Y programs tailored to every stage of their lives. Azaliea is learning to love exercise and movement with swim and ballet classes. She also enjoys playing in the Kid Zone while her mother stays fit with group exercise classes. Ernesto is learning to swim by participating in the adult swim program. “We know it is because of generous and caring people that we, as students, can be part of the Y family. We look forward to the day when we will be able to help other families have the same opportunity.” – Leanna Escobar The Escobars are just one example of how donors give children and families the opportunity to get involved in the Y and grow stronger.
