my why: BUILDING TEEN LEADERS Zach and Emily Zillweger G. CECIL PRUETT COMMUNITY CENTER FAMILY YMCA Zach and Emily Zillweger are prime examples of teen leaders. Their mother, Carol Conway, enrolled them in Cherokee Y camp at an early age with help from the Y financial assistance program. Through the years, Emily and Zach participated in most of the camps and youth programs offered at the Y. They logged more than 600 volunteer hours with the YMCA. In 2010, Zach turned 16 and applied to become a counselor in training. He was hired to work at camp and does a magnificent job working with campers. Emily will follow Zach’s lead as a counselor in training this summer. As she watches her children grow, Carol sees the Y’s role that in making them young adults and leaders. “I support the Y annual campaign because of the difference it made for our family. Financial assistance helped us when we needed it, and I’m glad I can now help other families in need.” – carol Conway How to give To make a gift today, please complete the pledge card and return to: YMCAs of Cherokee County, 151 Waleska Street, Canton, GA 30114, or give online at pcy.ymcaatlanta.org, and click Donate Now. why it matters 2013 Annual Giving Campaign G.
