How to Register for the Emergent Literacy for VPK Instructors... the Florida Department of Education

How to Register for the Emergent Literacy for VPK Instructors course offered by
the Florida Department of Education
The statewide child care training system is being used for Florida Department of
Education/VPK Training. You may access this system directly to register for some VPK
courses, including Emergent Literacy for VPK Instructors, by visiting the Department of
Children and Families website. Please note that not all courses can be registered for
through this site. Please refer to the “Contact/Registration” section of the specific
training to determine which website to use for registration.
Note: The Department of Children and Families website has changed and you must
provide additional information to re-establish your account. Do not create a new profile
or all of your previous information may be erased.
Directions for registering:
1. Go to www.myflorida.com/childcare
2. On the left hand side, below “Training and Credentialing,” click on “Course
Registration”
3. Please enter your email address and select continue. If you do not remember
your email address, please click on “Forgot Email address.” If you have not
previously registered an email address, please follow the directions below;
otherwise skip to number 4
a. If you have not previously registered an email address in the DCF system for
course registration or to view your transcript, please click the link “Register as
a new user” at the top of the page. You will then be prompted to enter an
email address and confirm it, then proceed by clicking “Create New Account”
You will then enter all of your demographic info including the last 5 digits of
your social security number. If you have previously registered an email
address and used the DCF system for course registration or to view
your transcript, do not Create a New Account. Make sure to use the
forgot email address feature. If you are unsure, attempt the forgot email
address first. Registering multiple accounts to one person may cause
all of your course history to be deleted.
Make sure to input all information, including security questions. One
complete, you will be sent an email to the address entered. Follow the
directions in that email to confirm your account.
4. After inputting your email address, please enter your password and click Log-In.
If you do not remember your password, please click the link for “forgot password”
5. Verify your personal information is correct and click “Save and Continue” Enter
information in the email and password sections ONLY IF YOU WISH TO
CHANGE THAT INFORMATION.
6. Click on “ Instructor Led or Online Courses Enroll/Unenroll”
7. Click on the tab labeled “Online Course Enroll”
8. Scroll down and under where is says “Select a training area” use the pull down
arrow to select “Child Care Facility Part 2”
9. Check the box next to Emergent Literacy for VPK Instructors (VPK)
10.
- Click “Next”
-Confirm the information is correct and click “Next”
-Enter payment information
If you wish to cancel your registration:
- Follow steps 1 through 6 listed above
- Click on the tab labeled “Course Un-Enroll”
- Select the box on the left hand side next to the course you wish to unenroll from. Click “Next” and confirm.
To obtain your transcript/certificate/CEU’s
-Follow Steps 1 through 5 listed above
-Click on “My Student Information and Transcript”
-Click on the various tabs at the top of the page to view different information,
including “My Transcript,” “My CEU’s,” and “Print My Certificates”
