3D Breast MultiWave Ultrasound Imaging

3D Breast
MultiWaveTM Ultrasound Imaging
Aixplorer® MultiWave Technology brings you unrivaled diagnostic confidence with impeccable
3D breast imaging quality and, never seen before, 3D ShearWaveTM Elastography.
Impeccable 3D Image Quality
The Aixplorer® now offers 3D Breast ultrasound, the latest technology for
breast visualization and lesion classification. Aixplorer’s impeccable 3D image
quality gives you the ability to view both traditional and non-traditional scanning
planes for an improved diagnostic process. Acquired 3D volumetric data
together with 3D display features deliver new information of breast pathology.
With the Aixplorer 3D Breast Application, suspicious tissue can be visualized
in any plane of the 3D volume, particularly in the coronal or C-plane for a high
resolution morphological assessment. In addition, compression pattern and
retraction/star pattern can be leveraged together with the coronal plane to
give supplementary information about lesion morphology.
3D ShearWave Elastography (SWE)
An incredible innovation, a phenomenal clinical tool, never seen before:
Quantitative Ultrasound Elastography in 3D!
Only the Aixplorer advances your diagnostic confidence to this level with its
patented 3D ShearWave Elastography. This non-invasive, unique technology
offers you a 3D color-coded elasticity map of tissue stiffness. In a single
3D acquisition, Aixplorer produces a reproducible, quantifiable (kPa) 3D
elastography volume, as well as, a high-resolution 3D B-mode
volume. The 3D elastography map provides unprecedented
clinical information of the elasticity distribution inside and
around a breast lesion. 3D ShearWave Elastography
maximizes your diagnostic potential and is a
must-have tool for lesion characterization,
lesion follow-up under treatment, and surgical
planning.
Key Features and Benefits
The SuperLinear VolumetricTM 16-5 Transducer
The SLV16-5 broadband transducer is
designed specifically for breast and small
parts to help you acquire the clearest images
and the most accurate data possible in every
exam. This transducer has been ergonomically
studied and validated by physicians and
sonographers to fit perfectly in your hand.
It is optimized to produce high quality 2D
and 3D B-mode imaging as well as precise
ShearWave Elastography imaging. Acquisition
workflow is optimized to provide you with fast
and accurate access to 3D information, with
a high resolution B-mode volume acquired in
less than 3 seconds and a combined B-mode/
SWE 3D volume in less than 10 seconds.
3D Display and Study Management
The advanced 3D on-cart review package
enables visualization and review of
acquired 3D volumes, including B-mode
and B-mode + SWE. Aixplorer’s 3D user
interface allows you to quickly navigate to
traditional orthogonal planes, or perform a
virtual re-scan through the volume in any
plane. MultiPlanar and MultiSlice
display options provide the
ability to layout imaging planes for rapid
reading and interpretation. Advanced
navigation tools (translation and rotation)
allow you to analyze any area of interest
from a new perspective. Accelerate your
workflow by appending optimal views
after the study and sending only the most
informative images to the workstation for
rapid interpretation.
Advanced Measurements
A new collection of 3D measurement tools is available in
MultiSlice and MultiPlanar display to perform accurate 3D
volume lesion evaluations. The 3D package also includes all
the tools available for 2D imaging including 2D distance,
trace, ellipse, Q-Box TM and Q-Box TM Ratio. Navigation and
measurement workflows are optimized to provide fast
access to measurement results and volume evaluations.

Ease of Use
Display Modes
• Side by Side Display
Enables Real-Time Low MI B-mode and contrast to be displayed together,
providing guidance before and during a contrast injection. The B-mode tissue
image can be used to ensure a lesion is in the scan plane while the contrast
image displays, simultaneously, the contrast phases within the lesion and
surrounding tissue.

One touch button on the control panel
enables you to switch to and from

Long Loop Capture
• Guarantees up to five minutes of
contrast acquisition time in both
prospective and retrospective
captures.
• Enables a complete capture of all
vascular phases during a liver contrast
injection.
• Exportable in DICOM or High Quality
H264 lossless video format.
• Display 1 Up - Increases the contrast image to full screen improving the frame
rate for better visualization of micro-bubbles traversing the vasculature.
• Flash Imaging - Rapidly destroys micro-bubbles in the scan plane to
facilitate the observation of dynamic micro-bubble replenishment.
• Contrast Timer - Tracks the time from the start of the contrast injection
to document the different vascular phases of an injection.
• MVI: Micro-Vascular Imaging - Follows the passage of micro bubbles over
time to improve the visualization of the vascular architecture of lesions and
other flow patterns.
• POI: Real-time duplicated Point of Interest - Real-time duplicated Point
of Interest in side-by-side mode assists in the correlation of differences in
contrast signal with anatomical structures provided by the low MI B-mode
image.

Gynaecology
MultiWaveTM Ultrasound Imaging
MultiWave Technology brings you impeccable gynaecological imaging quality and real-time ShearWaveTM
Elastography for a comprehensive solution for your patients.
Impeccable GYN Image Quality
Impeccable B-mode image quality in axial and lateral dimension for all your clinical
GYN needs. Aixplorer’s GYN application is optimized to achieve maximum resolution
to obtain fine morphological structure detail of the ovaries, adnexae and endometrium,
including difficult cases such as a fibroid uterus.
ShearWave Elastography for GYN Imaging
For the first time ever, breakthrough ShearWave Elastography technology enables
the quantitative (kPa) assessment of lesion elasticity, without manual

assessment or for the visualization of any
stiffer versus softer areas. As ShearWave
Elastography is reproducible and
operator independent it may assist
in the detection of suspicious
morphology, guide biopsies and
monitor lesions post therapy.

SuperTransducersTM
MultiWaveTM Ultrasound Imaging
Designed for optimal sensitivity and operator comfort, the Aixplorer® SuperTransducer family
gives you the power to acquire extraordinary images on every patient.
Comprehensive solutions
to all imaging challenges
Aixplorer’s ultra wideband transducers with
their unique core acoustic technology and
advanced ergonomic design enable exceptional
detail of tissue in every exam in both B-mode
and ShearWaveTM Elastography imaging. The
SuperTranducer family has a unique capability to
fire a Mach cone pulse sequence which in turn
provokes a ‘push’ in ShearWave Elastography
mode, without inducing a cool-down phase.
Incredible technology for
optimal sensitivity and
operator comfort
The SuperTransducer family (SL15-4, SLV16-5,
SC6-1 and SE12-3), is based on highperformance transducer technology. This
technology overcomes the well-known
trade-off between sensitivity and bandwidth
frequency, rendering extraordinary clinical
performance in deep penetration, high
resolution and contrast. The transducer
acoustic stack uses the latest generation
of piezocomposite materials engineered
with advanced efficiency piezoceramics and
innovative polymer technology. These innovative
features exhibit very high coupling coefficient,
low acoustic impedance and high damping.
The transducer architecture embeds multilevel,
matching and backing layers for perfect
agreement with the propagation medium and
maximization of both transducer bandwidth and
acoustic output power. This amazing increase
in performance, as compared to conventional
transducer technology, uniquely leverages
the ability to increase the frequency range
of transducers for various clinical application
presets (eg: the SL15-4 is able to cover
superficial breast to deep breast in a single
transducer). The ergonomic design of the
SuperTransducer family provides lightweight
transducers and cables. These transducers
have been ergonomically studied and validated
by physicians and sonographers to fit perfectly
in your hand in a relaxed position in order to
reduce the risk of work related injury.
