In order to start using BTSync, you will need to accept its Privacy Policy and Terms of use. First, turn on the service in our settings page. Then click on the BTSync Interface. You should see this splash screen on your first launch to access it’s Privacy Policy and Terms. ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Once this is completed, you will not be prompted unless there is a new version updated. ! You will be prompted for the first time to set a username and password so that it prevents its unauthorised usage. This is useful if you do not want anyone to be able to setup a Sync between your drive and their own. ! Please take note that there is a bug in this release of BitTorrent. ! Upon setting the username and password, you will not be able to access using the newly set username and password until you stop and start the service again.! So… If you had set a username and password to access the BitTorrent WebUI, you will need to quit your web browser, start your web browser again, stop the BTSync, then start again.! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Once you have restarted the BTSync Service and when you try to access it again. For users who have set an username and password, you will be prompted to authenticate before you can gain access to the interface page.! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Authenticate against the username and password that you had set earlier. There are only 2 selections available after you have authenticated . To setup a folder to be synced, simply select Add Folder from the main status page.! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Pick the folder from your Drive. Your Drive is in /media/sda1 or /media/sdb1. This could also vary from time to time depending on your partition but generally in this /media/sdxxx folder. Once you have selected the folder that you are able to share out, Select Generate next to the secret field. ! ! Sync a folder shared by others (Wireless Drive)! ! If you have a folder that has been shared by someone else, go to Add Folder as well.! Select your destination path. ! IMPORTANT : Please take note that you MUST select your drive as your destination path. If you select your firmware as your destination path, you will get yourself a bricked drive once the sync starts.! ! ! Enter the Secret Key provided by the device sharing out the folder and select Add.! Do not select Generate as you are NOT Sharing out a folder. ! ! You should then be able to see on the status page that the sync process has been setup and syncing will happen by itself.! ! It is important to know that while files are being synced over from a source, it will appear in your Wireless Drive with the extension of !sync. ! ! Sync a folder shared by others (Mobile Phones)! !
