N7 Newlands Cross Upgrade
Issue 3 (N7), May 2014
We at BAM are delighted to have been appointed by the
National Roads Authority to design, build, finance, operate and
maintain the N7 Newlands Cross free-flow junction and a 50km
section of the N11 road network in Wicklow and Wexford.
What is happening now?
Over the winter and spring months, construction activities
have progressed well. The switching of the main N7 traffic in
January and February onto the temporary road went very
smoothly and traffic is moving well through the junction.
Works to divert underground services is on-going on a phased
basis. The construction of the new flyover commenced
in mid February and the progress we have made with the
construction of the approach embankment is visible for
all to see. The works along the northern end of the site

for the next traffic switch to be carried out. The next traffic

layout. There will be some changes to the N7 inbound
traffic lanes, which will are outlined later in the newsletter.
Construction of new stone walls at the rear of some of the
properties along Newlands Road residents has commenced
in conjunction with the service diversions in this area.
