‫‪iPodia Class – Principles and practices of global innovation‬‬ ‫קורס ‪iPodia‬‬ ‫סמסטר אביב תשע"ג‪ -‬עקרונות ויישום של חדשנות גלובלית‬ ‫מספר קורס‪901400 :‬‬ ‫בסמסטר אביב הקרוב יפתח‪ ,‬לראשונה בטכניון‪ ,‬קורס במסגרת פרוייקט ‪.iPodia‬‬ ‫הקורס פתוח לסטודנטים מכל הפקולטות‪.‬‬ ‫הרעיון שעומד מאחורי פרויקט זה הוא שינוי מסגרת ואופן הלמידה‪ .‬בקורס משתתפים סטודנטים‬ ‫ממוסדות שונים בעולם‪ ,‬כאשר תכני הקורס מועברים בהרצאות דרך האינטרנט והתרגולים מתבצעים‬ ‫בשיחות וידיאו בין הכיתות‪.‬‬ ‫מטלות הקורס השונות יבוצעו ביחידים‪ ,‬בקבוצות של סטודטים מאותו מוסד ובקבוצות של סטודנטים‬ ‫ממוסדות שונים‪.‬‬ ‫בסיום הקורס יפגשו כל הסטודנטים לתוכנית משותפת של שבועיים בקוריאה‪.‬‬ ‫הקורס מקנה ‪ 5.3‬נק' זכות‪ ,‬ולכן דורש השקעה‪ .‬יש להגיע מוכנים לשיעורים לאחר מילוי מטלות‬ ‫ההכנה‪ .‬יתקבלו לקורס סטודנטים במצב אקדמי טוב ובעלי מוטיבציה למעורבות בקורס‪.‬‬ ‫בסמסטר הקרוב הקורס מתקיים בשיתוף הטכניון‪ USC ,‬בקליפורניה ארה"ב‪ KAIST ,‬בקוריאה ו‪PKU -‬‬ ‫בסין‪.‬‬ ‫*הקורס אינו מותאם במלואו לזמני הסמסטר בגלל שיתוף הפעולה בין המוסדות השונים‪ ,‬ויש להתכונן‬ ‫לגמישות בנושא‪.‬‬ ‫הקורס מתחיל לפני פתיחת הסמסטר‪ ,‬למעוניינים מומלץ להקדים ולהרשם‪.‬‬ ‫לפרטים נוספים והרשמה ניתן ליצור קשר עם מרים או רווה (פרטים למטה)‪.‬‬ ‫*סטודנט שישתתף בקורס יקבל מימון של ‪ 750$‬למימון הוצאות הנסיעה‪ ,‬ונעשים נסיונות להשיג מימון נוסף‪ .‬אנו‬ ‫מבטיחים כי סטודנט שירשם אך לא יתאפשר לו לצאת לנסיעה מסיבה כלכלית לא יפגע מכך‪.‬‬ ‫‪The Technion is a partner to an initiative called iPodia Alliance (http://ipodia.usc.edu/).‬‬ ‫‪The objective of the iPodia initiative is to stimulate learning by implementing a different‬‬ ‫‪teaching environment. An environment which is conducive to open ended issues, to‬‬ ‫‪issues which could have some impact on society within the framework of science and‬‬ ‫‪technology. The premise is that you learn also from whom you study with. For this‬‬ ‫‪reason there is a strong international/cultural link within iPodia. The teaching realms of‬‬ ‫‪an iPodia course are different from those typical of the Technion. This first trial at the‬‬ ‫‪Technion will involve collaboration between USC (University of Southern California),‬‬ ‫‪Technion, KAIST (Korean Advanced Institute of Science and technology), PKU (Peking‬‬ ‫‪University).‬‬ The course will be a 3.5 point credit which means it is a heavy load. The course will require preparation in advance of each meeting. Meetings will be held simultaneously on different campuses around the world. Therefore, meeting times are slated for Thursday evenings from 18:00-20:00. The scheduling of the course will not be simple, and students will be required to fit things into time slots beyond usually semester scheduling at the Technion. We will do our best to deal with this creatively. The course will be taught completely in English. Part of the course requirements will be to work on projects with partners from other universities/countries and to be involved in a two week exchange program, this year in Korea. Each student will have 750$ funding for the exchange program. We are working to get more funding, but we cannot guarantee it at this moment. We can assure that students who won't be able to attend the trip because financial reasons will not be penalized. The course may be best suited to students with interests in innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership and possibly students involved in Engineers without Borders (EWB). Attached is the course outline.
