‫פעילות רפואית‪:‬‬
‫התרופה משמשת לטיפול בסוגים שונים של אפילפסיה במבוגרים מעל גיל ‪.16‬‬
‫כמו כן משמשת כטיפול נלווה לתרופות אנטי‪-‬אפילפטיות אחרות בחולים מבוגרים וילדים‬
‫מגיל ‪ ,4‬המטופלים בסוגים מסוימים של מחלת האפילפסיה‪ ,‬ולטיפול באפילפסיה מסוג ‪JME‬‬
‫ו‪ PGTCS-‬בחולים מעל גיל ‪ 12‬שנים‪.‬‬
‫מתי אין להשתמש בתכשיר?‬
‫אין להשתמש אם ידועה רגישות ל‪ ,Levetiracetam -‬לנגזרות אחרות של ‪ Pyrrolidone‬או‬
‫לאחד ממרכיבי התרופה‪.‬‬
‫אין להשתמש בילדים הקטנים מגיל ‪ 4‬שנים‪.‬‬
‫אין להשתמש בתרופה מבלי להיוועץ ברופא לפני התחלת הטיפול‪:‬‬
‫אם הינך בהריון או מיניקה‪.‬‬
‫אם הינך סובל‪/‬ת או סבלת בעבר מליקוי בתפקוד הכבד‪ ,‬הכליה‪/‬מערכת השתן‪.‬‬
‫איך תשפיע התרופה על חיי היום יום שלך?‬
‫השימוש בתרופה זו עלול לפגום בעירנות ועל כן מחייב זהירות בנהיגה ברכב‪ ,‬בהפעלת‬
‫מכונות מסוכנות ובכל פעילות המחייבת עירנות‪.‬‬
‫באשר לילדים יש להזהירם מרכיבה על אופניים או ממשחקים בקרבת הכביש וכדומה‪.‬‬
‫אין לשתות יינות או משקאות אחרים המכילים אלכוהול בתקופת הטיפול עם התרופה‪.‬‬
‫אזהרות‪:‬‬
‫אם הינך רגיש‪/‬ה למזון כלשהו או לתרופה כלשהי‪ ,‬עליך להודיע על כך לרופא לפני נטילת‬
‫התרופה‪.‬‬
‫הנקה בתקופת הטיפול בתרופה זו אינה מומלצת‪.‬‬
‫במשך התקופה בה התרופה נמצאת בשימוש לא נצפתה השפעה על צמיחת הילדים המטופלים‬
‫או על בגרותם המינית‪ .‬יחד עם זאת‪ ,‬יש ניסיון מוגבל לגבי השפעת התרופה לטווח ארוך‪.‬‬
‫במידה ובמהלך הטיפול יש עלייה בתדירות ההתקפים‪ ,‬יש לפנות לרופא המטפל‪.‬‬
‫הפסקת הטיפול בתרופה חייבת להתבצע באופן הדרגתי‪ ,‬בהתאם להנחיות הרופא‪.‬‬
‫נטילת תרופות אנטי‪-‬אפילפטיות (נוגדות פרכוסים) עלולה להגביר את הסיכון לפעולות או‬
‫מחשבות אובדניות‪ .‬עליך ועל בני משפחתך לשים לב לשינויים במצב הרוח ובדפוסי ההתנהגות‪.‬‬
‫יש לעקוב אחרי סימנים המעידים על סיכון להתאבדות‪ ,‬כגון‪ :‬דיבורים או מחשבות על הרצון‬
‫להזיק לעצמך‪ ,‬התכנסות בתוך עצמך והתרחקות ממשפחה וחברים‪ ,‬דיכאון או החמרה בדיכאון‬
‫קיים‪ ,‬התעסקות בנושא המוות‪ ,‬הפקרה או מסירה של נכסים יקרי ערך‪.‬‬
‫תגובות בין‪-‬תרופתיות‪:‬‬
‫אם הינך נוטל‪/‬ת תרופה נוספת‪ ,‬כולל תרופות הנמכרות ללא מרשם ותוספי תזונה‪ ,‬או אם‬
‫גמרת זה עתה טיפול בתרופה אחרת‪ ,‬עליך לדווח זאת לרופא המטפל כדי למנוע סיכונים או‬
‫אי‪-‬יעילות הנובעים מתגובות בין‪-‬תרופתיות‪ ,‬זאת במיוחד לגבי תרופות אחרות לטיפול‬
‫באפילפסיה (לדוגמא‪ :‬קרבמזפין‪ ,‬פניטואין‪ ,‬ואלפרואט)‪ ,‬גינקו‪ ,‬שמן נר הלילה‪.‬‬
‫תופעות לוואי‪:‬‬
‫בנוסף לפעילות הרצויה של התרופה‪ ,‬בזמן השימוש בה עלולות להופיע תופעות לוואי‪ ,‬כגון‪:‬‬
‫תופעות הלוואי השכיחות ביותר‪ :‬ישנוניות‪ ,‬חולשה ועייפות‪.‬‬
‫תופעות לוואי נוספות כמפורט להלן‪:‬‬
‫הפרעות במערכת העצבים המרכזית‪ :‬סחרחורת‪ ,‬עוויתות‪ ,‬כאב ראש‪ ,‬תנועתיות יתר של‬
‫השרירים‪ ,‬חוסר שליטה בתנועות השרירים‪ ,‬רעד בלתי רצוני‪ ,‬הפרעות בזיכרון (לרבות בעיית‬
‫שכחה)‪ ,‬תחושת נימול (עקצוצים)‪ ,‬חוסר שיווי משקל‪ ,‬הפרעת קשב (אובדן ריכוז)‪.‬‬

‫הפרעות בעיכול‪ :‬שלשול‪ ,‬כאבי בטן‪ ,‬בחילות‪ ,‬הקאות‪ ,‬קשיי עיכול‪ ,‬דלקת הלבלב (פנקראטיטיס)‪,‬‬
‫אי‪-‬ספיקת כבד‪ ,‬הפטיטיס (הצהבת העיניים והעור‪ ,‬שתן כהה)‪ ,‬הפרעות בתפקודי כבד‪.‬‬
‫הפרעות באכילה‪ :‬אובדן תיאבון‪/‬אנורקסיה‪ ,‬עלייה או ירידה במשקל‪.‬‬
‫הפרעות באוזניים‪ :‬ורטיגו‪.‬‬
‫הפרעות בעיניים‪ :‬כפילות ראייה‪ ,‬טשטוש ראייה‪.‬‬
‫הפרעות במערכת הדם‪ :‬ירידה במספר הטסיות‪ ,‬תאי הדם האדומים ו‪/‬או הלבנים‪.‬‬
‫הפרעות במערכת הנשימה‪ :‬שיעול (החמרת שיעול קיים)‪.‬‬
‫הפרעות בשרירים‪ :‬כאבי שרירים‪.‬‬
‫זיהומים‪ :‬זיהומים‪ ,‬דלקת באף ובלוע‪ ,‬חום‪.‬‬
‫פציעות‪ :‬נטייה לפציעות מקריות‪.‬‬
‫תופעות הלוואי‪ :‬ישנוניות‪ ,‬סחרחורת ועייפות שכיחות יותר בתחילת הטיפול ועלולות להופיע‬
‫שוב עם העלאת המינון‪.‬‬
‫בכל מקרה שבו הינך מרגיש‪/‬ה תופעות לוואי שלא צוינו בעלון זה‪ ,‬או אם חל שינוי בהרגשתך‬
‫הכללית עליך להתייעץ עם הרופא מיד‪.‬‬
‫תופעות לוואי ותגובות בין‪-‬תרופתיות בילדים ותינוקות‪:‬‬
‫על ההורים לדווח לרופא המטפל על כל תופעת לוואי וכן על כל תרופה נוספת הניתנת‬
‫לילד‪/‬ה!‬
‫מינון‪:‬‬
‫מינון לפי הוראות הרופא בלבד‪ .‬אין לעבור על המנה המומלצת‪.‬‬
‫יש להקפיד לחלק את המינון היומי לפעמיים ביום‪ ,‬בבוקר ובערב‪.‬‬
‫תרופה זו אינה מיועדת לתינוקות וילדים מתחת לגיל ‪ 4‬שנים‪.‬‬
‫יש להשתמש בתרופה זו בזמנים קצובים כפי שנקבע על‪-‬ידי הרופא המטפל‪ .‬אם שכחת‬
‫ליטול מנה‪ ,‬יש לקחתה מיד כשנזכרת‪ .‬אך אם זמן נטילת המנה הבאה קרוב‪ ,‬אין לקחת את‬
‫המנה שנשכחה‪ ,‬יש להמשיך בלוח זמני הנטילה הרגיל וכן ליידע את הרופא שנשכחה מנה‪.‬‬
‫אין ליטול שתי מנות ביחד!‬
‫שים‪/‬י לב‪ :‬אין ליטול תרופה זו עם אלכוהול‪.‬‬
‫אופן השימוש‪:‬‬
‫אין ללעוס! יש לבלוע התרופה עם הרבה מים‪ .‬בעת הצורך ניתן לחצות את הטבליה‪.‬‬
‫כיצד תוכל‪/‬י לסייע להצלחת הטיפול?‬
‫עליך להשלים את הטיפול שהומלץ על‪-‬ידי הרופא‪.‬‬
‫גם אם חל שיפור במצב בריאותך אין להפסיק הטיפול בתרופה ללא התייעצות עם רופא‪.‬‬
‫מנע‪/‬י הרעלה!‬
‫תרופה זו וכל תרופה אחרת יש לשמור במקום סגור מחוץ להישג ידם של ילדים ו‪/‬או תינוקות‬
‫ועל‪-‬ידי כך תמנע‪/‬י הרעלה‪.‬‬
‫אם נטלת מנת יתר או אם בטעות ילד בלע מן התרופה‪ ,‬פנה‪/‬י מיד לחדר מיון של בית‪-‬חולים‪,‬‬
‫והבא‪/‬י את אריזת התרופה איתך‪.‬‬
‫אין לגרום להקאה ללא הוראה מפורשת מרופא! תרופה זו נרשמה לטיפול במחלתך; בחולה‬
‫אחר‪/‬ת‪ ,‬היא עלולה להזיק‪ .‬אל תיתן‪/‬י תרופה זו לקרוביך‪ ,‬שכניך או מכריך‪.‬‬
‫אין ליטול תרופות בחושך! יש לבדוק התווית והמנה בכל פעם שהינך נוטל‪/‬ת תרופה‪ .‬יש‬
‫להרכיב משקפיים אם הינך זקוק‪/‬ה להם‪.‬‬
‫אחסנה‪ :‬במקום קריר ויבש‪.‬‬

THE PHARMACISTS' REGULATIONS (PREPARATIONS) - 1986
Levetrim 250, 500, 1000 mg
Tablets
The dispensing of this medicine requires a doctor’s prescription.
Read this package insert carefully in its entirety before using this medicine.
Composition:
Each Levetrim 250 tablet contains: Levetiracetam 250 mg
Each Levetrim 500 tablet contains: Levetiracetam 500 mg
Each Levetrim 1000 tablet contains: Levetiracetam 1000 mg
Inactive ingredients: Maize starch, povidone, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate,
Opadry white Y-1-7000 (titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol, hypromellose).
Therapeutic group: Anti-epileptic (anticonvulsant).
Therapeutic activity:
This medicine is used to treat various types of epilepsy in adults over 16 years of age.
It is also used as adjunctive therapy to other anti-epileptic medicines in adults and children
from 4 years of age who are being treated for certain types of epilepsy, and for treatment
of JME and PGTCS types of epilepsy in patients over 12 years of age.
When should the preparation not be used?
Do not use this medicine if you are sensitive to Levetiracetam, to other Pyrrolidone
derivatives or to any of the medicine’s ingredients.
Do not use in children younger than 4 years of age
Do not take this medicine without consulting a doctor before starting
treatment:
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you are suffering, or have suffered in the past, from
impaired function of the liver, the kidney/urinary tract.
How will this medicine affect your daily life?
Use of this medicine may impair alertness and therefore caution should be exercised when
driving a car, operating dangerous machinery and in any activity which requires alertness.
Children should be cautioned against bicycle riding or playing near roads, etc.
Do not drink wine or other alcoholic beverages while under treatment with this
medicine.
Warnings:
If you are sensitive to any type of food or medicine, inform your doctor before commencing
treatment with this medicine.
Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with this medicine.
During the time that this medicine has been in use no impact on growth or puberty has
been observed in treated children. However, experience regarding long term effects of
the medicine is limited.
In the event that seizures occur more frequently during treatment, contact the attending
doctor.
Discontinuation of treatment with the medicine must be done gradually, in accordance
with the doctor’s instructions.
Taking anti-epileptic medicines (anticonvulsants) may increase the risk of suicidal actions
or thoughts. You and your family members should pay close attention to any changes in
mood and behaviour patterns. Be alert for signs that might indicate a risk of suicide, such
as: talking or thinking about wanting to hurt yourself, introversion and withdrawing from
friends and family, becoming depressed or having your depression get worse, becoming
preoccupied with death and dying, abandoning or giving away prized possessions.
Drug interactions:
If you are taking another drug concomitantly, including non-prescription medicines and
nutritional supplements, or if you have just finished treatment with another medicine,
inform the attending doctor, in order to prevent hazards or lack of efficacy arising from
drug interactions. This is especially important regarding other anti-epileptic medicines
(e.g.: carbamazepine, phenytoin, valproate), ginkgo, evening primrose oil.
Side effects:
Side effects and drug interactions in children and infants:
Parents must inform the attending doctor about any side effects, as well as any additional
medicine being taken by the child!
Dosage:
Dosage is according to doctor's instructions only. Do not exceed the recommended
dose. Be sure to divide the daily dose into two administrations, one in the morning and
one in the evening.
This medicine is not intended for administration to infants and children under
4 years of age.
This medicine is to be taken at specific time intervals as determined by the attending doctor.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time
for your next dose, do not take the missed dose; carry on with your regular dosing schedule
and also notify the doctor that a dose was missed. Never take two doses together!
Attention: Do not take this medicine with alcohol.
Directions for use:
Do not chew! Swallow the medicine with a large amount of water.
When necessary, the tablet can be divided.
How can you contribute to the success of the treatment?
Complete the full course of treatment as instructed by the doctor.
Even if there is an improvement in your health, do not discontinue use of this medicine
without consulting the doctor.
Avoid poisoning!
This medicine, and all other medicines, must be stored in a safe place out of the reach
of children and/or infants, to avoid poisoning. If you have taken an overdose, or if a child
has accidentally swallowed the medicine, proceed immediately to a hospital emergency
room and bring the package of the medicine with you.
Do not induce vomiting unless explicitly instructed to do so by a doctor! This medicine has
been prescribed for the treatment of your ailment; in another patient it may cause harm.
Do not give this medicine to your relatives, neighbours or acquaintances.
Do not take medicines in the dark! Check the label and the dose each time you take your
medicine. Wear glasses if you need them.
Storage: Store in a cool and dry place.
Even if kept in their original container and stored as recommended, medicines may be kept
for a limited period only. Please note the expiry date of the medicine! In case of doubt,
consult the pharmacist who dispensed the medicine to you.
Do not store different medications in the same package.

In addition to the desired effect of the medicine, adverse reactions may occur during the
course of taking this medicine, for example:
The most common effects are: drowsiness, weakness and fatigue.
Other side effects are listed below:
Central nervous system disorders: dizziness, convulsions, headache, excessive muscle
motility, lack of muscle control, involuntary trembling, memory disorders (including amnesia),
tingling sensation (stinging), poor balance, attention disorder (loss of concentration).
Mental disorders: agitation, unusual behaviour, hostility or aggressiveness, anger, anxiety,
confusion, depression, emotional lability/mood swings, hallucinations, psychotic disorders,
hostility or irritability, insomnia, nervousness, personality disorders (behaviour problems),
abnormal thinking (slow thinking, difficulty concentrating), suicidal thoughts, suicide
attempts.
Skin disorders: rash, eczema, redness and itching of the skin, hair loss.
Gastrointestinal disorders: diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, indigestion,
pancreatitis, hepatic insufficiency, hepatitis (yellowing of the eyes and skin, dark urine),
liver function disturbances.
Eating disorders: loss of appetite/anorexia, weight gain or loss.
Ear disorders: vertigo.
Eye disorders: double vision, blurred vision.
Blood system disorders: reduction in number of platelets, red and/or white blood cells.
Respiratory system disorders: cough (worsening of existing cough).
Muscle disorders: muscle pain.
Infections: infections, nasopharyngitis, fever.
Injuries: prone to accidental injuries.
The side effects: drowsiness, dizziness and fatigue are more common at the start of
treatment and may recur when the dose is increased.
If you notice side effects not mentioned in this leaflet or if there has been any change in
your general health, consult your doctor immediately.
