First-Class The Single-Piece First-Class Mail Letter Stamp rate has increased from 46 cents to 49 cents. But for postage meters there is a new one-cent discount Metered category for First-Class letters. The price becomes 48 cents with the discount. You save a penny a stamp by using your postage meter! • The Metered discount applies to all four price breaks for First-Class Letters up to 3.5 ounces and has replaced the Stamps prices in all postage meters. The name of the class has not changed. It will be necessary to manually select zone 9 when needed; zone 9 will not automatically be selected when the ZIP Code is entered.
