“Walk-in Access” INSTRUCTIONS FOR ON SITE ACCESS TO ELECTRONIC RESOURCES We allow onsite access to some library electronic resources; you must be on site on in the Forum Library or St Luke’s Library access these resources. 1, Turn on Wyse Terminal by pressing the button – Check for GREEN LIGHT. 2, Screen – VMWare View – Carefully enter the correct username and password Username: ******** Password: ******* Troubleshooting – If password is entered incorrectly (3- 5 times), you will be locked out for a set period (15 – 20 minutes). Carefully enter the correct password. 3, Enter this and press OK 4, Wait for Desktop to load to the Library catalogue. 5, Once you’ve found the e-resource that you would like to see, click on the indicted box. 6, Check the box “Login using UofE library identification (unicard or library card) instead” 7, Sign in to catalogue using the Barcode number below and the PIN, (Given to you at the issue desk) Sample Number 8, You will now have access to your desired text. SAVING AND FINISHING SESSION Please Note that E-Books are just for reading, you will not be allowed to save these. Some journals will allow you to e-mail contents. 1, To save your work to a USB Drive memory stick, if you don’t have one the are available in the print unit or from the vending machine in the computer cluster. - Insert USB memory stick - Find article - Choose the PDF option - File > Save as - Then manually type in file name: F:\ (This allows you to view the contents of your USB device and save) n.b. After you have saved once to F:\ the computer automatically defaults to it. - When everything is saved remove USB devise (There is no option of safe removal) 2, Log off machine (Start > Log off), turn off the computer using the Button and return this sheet to the desk.
