1. GETTING STARTED
To get started, enter the home. At this point you will
most likely be greeted by the English Setter,
Archer. Pat him on the head. Due to the leaky
nature of the white long-haired cat, Pips, both he &
Muezza should be isolated in their room. Their room, the first door
on the left, is a sanctuary from the English Setter. They love their
room. It is also sometimes very dusty from the litter boxes, so
please take care if you are prone to dust allergies. Sometimes I
think I hear the cats whispering and plotting my demise when I
close the door. Oversharing again...sorry.
2. FEEDING
I. Archer, the English Setter
Archer loves his meal times. One of the
ways in which he shows this is through
prancing around the house while his meal
is being prepared. Or he’s stalking prey and
you’re the prey. Well anyhoo, let's prepare
some meals shall we?
FISH BERRY PIE
1 cup of dry food (pantry)
1/2" disk of meat log (refrigerator)
1 to 2 spoonfuls of yogurt (refrigerator)
1 fish oil capsule (counter)
1 half a handful of blueberries (if available)
II. CATS
Our cats, Pips in particular, are voracious
eaters. If they were the size of tigers, we
would all surely be dead. The cats have a
simpler meal to make; prepared twice
daily.
THE STINKS
1 can of wet food (pantry)
1 cup of dry food (pantry)
And there we have it, they are sure to be
happily slurping and chomping away
now!
Dinnertime is a simpler affair.
SAVORY PIE
Dinner is essentially the same:
1 cup of dry food (pantry)
1/2" disk of meat log (refrigerator)
1 cut up carrot (refrigerator)

4. TO START PLAY
Archer has a number of toys in a wicker basket set into a
cubby hole to the right of the television. To initiate
playtime, remove any one of the toys from the basket and
wave it in front of his face. Within seconds he should latch
on and begin play. Hold on and take care not to have him
knock you over! He's stronger than he looks. Archer also likes
to play "Sometimes Fetch" in the back yard with a tennis
ball. We say "Sometimes Fetch" because, well, he can
loose interest in the ball especially if a butterfly catches
his interest.
Play with the cats is, unfortunately, not a viable activity for
them at this stage in their life. Pips is likened to an old man that
just wants you off his lawn. And Muezza is simply not amused by
any foolishness. Best just to pat them on the head and tell them
they are good at what they're doing at the moment (most likely
they will be sitting or laying down). Nevertheless, there will be a
feather stick in their room should you feel compelled to wave
it around in the air.
5. MAINTENANCE
Walking doggies, while considered by some as a form of
play, is really just a maintenance routine. Among many
other benefits, the walk helps with the mental and
physical well-being of both the dog and the dog-walker.
To perform this maintenance routine you will need the
following items:
• Sprenger prong collar (hanging on coat hooks)
• 6' lead (hanging on coat hooks)
• Poo bags (Don't know where these are!)
Archer also hates to be brushed sometimes. We are
trying to correct this behavior with treats and love but
are having a 'ruff' time with it. Ha........ha. If he needs to be
brushed, they can be found in the wicker basket to the
left of the toy basket.
The cats mostly perform their own maintenance. Pips
does need to get three pills a day, two in the morning and
one in the evening. Elizabeth knows what these pills
are called.
6. TROUBLE-SHOOTING
• Archer won't eat his breakfast/dinner. It is normal
for him to sometimes skip a meal. He seems to be
a bit of a finicky eater or he ate some grass.
• Archer is throwing up grass. Hopefully he did
so outside.
• Archer is being a jerk. He's high on grass, he's
cranky and needs to be kenneled.
• It is daytime and Archer won't come in from the
backyard. Produce a cookie and ask "Do you want
a cookie?"
• It is nighttime and Archer won't come in from the
backyard. Using a flashlight, produce a cookie and
ask "Do you want a cookie?"
• Pips is meowing at me and won't stop. Pips is
telling you to get off of his lawn. Get off his lawn.
• Muezza is in the garage, creepily looking in from
the cat door. She's creepy like that.
