Join the Yuppie Puppies!
The Yuppie Puppies is a group of Indian River County professionals who care about animal welfare and want to promote
and support the mission of the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County. The Young Professionals aim to
bring together others who want to help animals in need while supporting the Humane Society through fun social events,
educational functions, fundraising events, volunteer projects and networking opportunities.
How Do I Join?
Simply fill out the form attached and make a donation of $50 or $25 a year per individual. Already a donor and giving at this
level or higher? That’s great! We can add you to our Membership List right away—just contact us at [email protected]
to let us know you want to be a part of the Yuppie Puppies.
What is Required of Me Once I Join?
You can be as active or as inactive in the group as you wish. You’ll receive invitations to participate in Yuppie Puppie
committees, activities, and special events, but there’s no requirement to attend. Some members just enjoy donating, while
others use HSVB-YP’s as an opportunity to network, build leadership skills, enhance their resume, meet other animal lovers,
or to volunteer and help spread the word about the Humane Society’s mission.

Yuppie Puppie Events
Bark in the Park
Bark in the Park, a dog walk and family fun festival, is the Yuppie Puppies annual
signature fundraiser event. Dogs, with their leash-holders and other family friends,
share the fun in Vero Beach’s Riverside Park. There are exhibits, booths, treats,
games, and activities. The Disc-Connected K9’s, the world famous frisbee dogs
perform throughout the day and amaze attendees with their high flying stunts. Also,
there is an agility play course, a dog walk, a lure course, and so much more.
Bark in the Park is a fun-filled family day but it’s also a successful fundraiser for the
Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County. Individuals, companies or “packs” raise funds prior to the event
and walk in honor or memory of their pets at Bark in the Parks’ walk ceremony. The event is a big opportunity to impact the
lives of thousands of pets that offer their unconditional love and devotion asking nothing in return. That is why team “pack”
participation and fundraising is so important to this event.
Bark in the Park Kickoff Party
The Bark in the Park kickoff party is a way to get the committee and team members excited about fundraising and the
event’s upcoming activities. It’s a fun night out to learn all of the exciting details about the big event and the Humane Society.
Attendees also learn how to create a pack and get started on making this year’s Bark in the Park a huge success! This event
is usually held at a hotel, restaurant, bar or similar with appetizers and alcohol specials for guests.
The Adventures of Sherlock Bones - This event is currently inactive.
The Adventures of Sherlock Bones Scavenger Hunt is a fun-filled family adventure presented by the The Yuppie Puppies.
Teams are comprised of a minimum of two members (up to a maximum equal to the number of seatbelts in your vehicle).
Teams will be given a list of clues taking you on an adventure throughout the county, snooping and sniffing for answers that
will lead you to victory. This was a previous event presented by the YP’s.
Want to get involved?
As a Yuppie Puppie member you have the opportunity to volunteer
on the committee for Bark in the Park and help it grow to be a huge
success. The committee meets the second Wednesday of each
month from 12:00-1:00 p.m. to discuss the event registration,
marketing, activities, logistics and more. To join contact the
