We at Saint Joseph are a worshiping multi-cultural

LECTURAS DE LA SEMANA
Road to Priesthood involves a
rigorous formation process
Seminary Formation involves much more than academicstudy. Prior to ordination, a candidate for priesthood goes
through a lengthy evaluation period, including an internship
during which he lives in a rectory and works with priests,
staff and parishioners. During this time, the candidate is
judged as to his suitability to be a priest. No one is ordained
unless the staff of St. John’s Seminary, including the lay
faculty and formation advisers, concludes that the candidate
has attained an emotional, psychological and sexual maturity
appropriate for his age and for the celibate life of a priest.
For more information, please visit www.archdiocese.la and
click on the “Vocations” tab. For particular help, you may
call Assistance Ministry at 213 637 7650.
SABIA USTED?
“Vocations”.

World Mission
Sunday, October 19,2014
Just as our Young church here in the United
States received support in the 19th century from
the Catholics of Europe through the society for
the Propagation of the Faith, so too the growing churches
in the Developing World today also require financial help.
Your generosity will help make a faith-filled difference
around the world!

A gift of $25.00 would be a month’s support for a
young woman preparing to serve as a Religious sister
in Indonesia
A gift of $60.00 is month’s education for a seminarian in Nigeria
About $50 a month helps a local Religious Community of Sisters in Tanzania care for the poor.
Just $20 helps toward the purchase of a bicycle for a
catechist in Kenya.
