Wine & Rose 2014!
Another successful event in the Rose Garden! The numerous
renovations over the last 2 calendar years were completed and
added significantly to the beautiful Rose Garden environment.
Righted pillars, replaced stonework, new stone steps and new
Western Red Cedar wood pergolas surrounded the Rose Garden.
International jazz vocalist Karrin Allyson captivated the crowd
with a wide variety of classics, jazz and rock accompanied by the
expanded Mike White group. The Bristol Seafood Grill offered a
delicious assortment of appetizers and wines that kept the crowd
humming around the fountain.

The weather and roses cooperated! John Riley, Rose Garden
Committee Chair led this year’s Groomer group to donate 668
volunteer hours grooming in the garden! The Parks & Rec staff
worked diligently to keep the garden looking spectacular all
season long!
Main sponsors for the event were the Martha Jane Starr Field of
Interest Foundation and the Reynolds Foundation. We thank
them for their very generous and gracious support. Sprint,
Lockton Companies, DeBruce Companies, Haverty Foundation,
Garmin, JE Dunn, Valtaire, Husch Blackwell, Shana Vaughn Designs,
Café Europa, Salutations, DST Systems and the Country Club Bank
were also major corporate sponsors. We especially acknowledge
our landscape firm, Bowman Bowman & Group, our red cedar
wood vendor, Schutte Lumber, and our wonderful craftsmen
company from Oak Grove, Architectural Masonry and Renovation,
for helping sponsor the evening as well.
The KCRS Board wishes to thank the many patrons and ticket
holders who contributed to Wine & Roses, and enjoyed this lovely
evening in the Rose Garden.
