Fall has arrived, and with a little luck we’ll feel
cooler weather. October marks the beginning of the
holiday season and it starts with the Halloween festivities. We invite all residents to participate in the
Halloween Happy Hour costume contest—we have
a month to prepare so let’s get creative! Prizes will
be awarded.
We have two great outings this month. The first

Lucky Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass, Texas. We’ll

take a chartered coach for all three of our properties
and staff members will attend for your comfort. The second outing is a
tour of the LBJ Ranch and National Park in Blanco County. This is an
amazing guided tour both of the ranch and of the “Texas White House.”
Please join Barbara, Valerie and me on October 10th for the Friday night
Music and Dance. We’re inviting all residents to come “kick up your
heels, enjoy a glass of wine and have a great time with us” - we’d love
your company.

decorations add to the splendor of the season, they can increase the risk of fire and
electrical injuries if not used safely. Consider purchasing LED lights, which use less
energy and run cooler than traditional

in 1980. He traveled all over the
United States with his grandparents,
who were in the Air Force.

employee attended Samuel Clemens
High School, where he was in
ROTC, was an active member of
Future Farmers of America raising rabbits. His hobbies include listening to classical music and volunteering; you can often find him feeding the homeless
on Sunday’s. He is an animal lover and proud
owner of two cats, Oliver and Anna Nicole. Can
you guess who this month’s mystery employee is?

the next day. We pick up prescriptions at Ft. Sam

For your convenience, a fax Zumba Gold: A workout that incorporates Latin dance steps and
machine, copier, shredder, and rhythms to promote movement and mobility for seniors. 1:30pm every

Front Desk. Feel free to ask a Chair Yoga: Deep breathing techniques and simple stretches. Relieves

This little girl was born in Detroit,
Michigan and graduated from
Dearbourne High School.
She
attended Michigan state, where she
met her husband. They had two
children, a son who lives in
Bulverde, Texas and a daughter
who lives in Chad, Africa working
as a Missionary. This resident has
seven grandchildren.
She has
extensively traveled, including 8
trips to Europe. Two favorite trips
were a riverboat cruise from Amsterdam to Vienna and a wonderful
trip to Paris, France. She has
collected artwork from the many
places she has visited. She is
VERY much interested in following
world events and keeping up to date
with political news. She loves
collegiate football and collegiate
basketball (favorite team-University
of Arizona) and she loves the
Spurs! She enjoys cooking Mexican
food—her neighbor in Albuquerque, N.M. taught her the “proper”
way to cook it! Her husband had
the greatest influence in her life and
she admired him greatly. Can you
