Festival notes…
Although the weather doesn’t feel much like fall and it is hard to believe
that we are well into the month of October, students are buzzing with
excitement and anticipation for the Fall Festival this weekend. Children
are busy plotting their day, baking trial entries for the bake contest,
etc. The festival is a day that all children remember and look forward
to attending – even after they graduate!
In order to bring this amazing event to life and make it a memorable
experience, dedicated volunteers spend hours and hours behind the
scenes, preparing and gathering everything from the numerous games,
to the entertaining rides, to the delicious food, to the fresh produce
and baked goods. The list is long and runs deep, but at the end of
the day, the sweat and tears are all worth the time when exhausted
children leave the festival, bubbling with excitement and stories about
the best day ever! In addition to the warriors who assume the role of
chairs, parents play an enormous role in the picture as they work their
assigned hours. Without everyone pitching in and playing his or her
part, the event would not be possible. We thank you in advance for
the role you will play in participating in a day of fun, friendship, and
community. Please remember that the schedule has been created down
to the minute, so it is very important to show up to your duty early,
with a positive attitude, and ready to enjoy the day.
Council’s Corner
Please look around your houses and offices for e-waste contributions.
During the last week of October, Student Council will have a collection
bin available. They will take anything that has a plug – barring large
appliances. Refer to the list of acceptable items on the website under
Quick Reference.
You CAN make a difference!
If you would like to contribute to Annunciation’s monthly nonperishable food collection, the 6th grade has a box for collections this
week.
Did you know that the collections at the weekly school Masses are
given to the Student Council designated charity of the month? Every
penny counts, and we appreciate that you scramble to find spare change
to put in those envelopes each week. Thank you!
Stellar Spellers, are you ready to compete?
God’s Corner
It is not happy people who
are thankful. It is thankful
people who are happy.
In order to choose the two students to represent Annunciation School
at the county spelling bee, we will hold a preliminary spelling bee
here – after school, Oct. 15 @ 3:00 in the auditorium. At this event,
there will be a 4-5 competition and a 7-8 competition. It is a single
elimination process where all of the students write the words on a
white boards as they stand in front of the room. Family members
are welcome to join us as we celebrate the competitive spirit and the
courage that it takes to compete.

We want your opinion
The parish is seeking input from all parishioners to determine where we are as a parish community and
where we are in our journey as disciples. The survey is accessible on the parish website http://www.
annunciationstockton.org under survey. In an effort to make it as user friendly as possible, the survey can
be completed on an iPhone, iPad, or computer and takes roughly 10-15 minutes to complete. It is our hope
that any members of your household who are 12 years and older take a few minutes to complete the survey
and provide us with information that will help us determine where we are and what direction parishioners
want to go in order to help people be better disciples of Christ.
Social Justice Ministry
The last day to register to vote is October 20th. On October 18th & 19th after all Masses, Social Justice
Ministry will have voter registrations forms available in front of the church and in the Plaza. On October 18th
at 10 am in the choir room The League of Woman Voters will present the pros and cons of the propositions.
If you would like more information fliers are available at the Parish House.
