Gospel Questions for this Week
… a great way to spend time exploring our faith!
Theme: We thank God for faithfulness.
Listen to the Word
Hearing this lovely opening to Paul’s letter to the Church
in Thessalonica, what part of it touches your heart? What
single word catches your ear?
Look into Our Lives
Question for Children: In your young life, who has
helped you know Jesus as a friend?
Question for Youth: We are supposed to give to God the
things that are God’s. What in your life is dedicated to
God? How to you keep those things sacred?
Question for Adults: If you were to write a thank you
note to someone or to a group who has helped you grow
in faith, to whom would you write and what would you

say?

Dear Parishioners,
Here are two announcements I would like to give special
attention:
Celebrate Faith 2015: Hearts on Fire! - is the
next diocesan wide celebration of our Catholic faith. It
will be held Sat., Jan. 24, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
at the Emerald Coast Convention Center on Okaloosa Island. Dr. Scott Hahn noted Catholic author, television host
and Catholic apologist and Fr. Tom Rosica, president of
Salt & Light Media of Toronto, Canada will be the morning and afternoon speakers. Registration is $20 per person
or $50 per family. There will be programs for elementary
and middle school age youths. Child care available for
infants to 3 years of age. Registration is through the diocesan website, www.ptdiocese.org. The homepage has
the link for registration for Celebrate Faith 2015. If anyone does not have a computer available for registration,
call the Office and we will assist you with that.
It would great to have many from the Basilica parish to attend. Registration will be offered to the first 2,100
folks. Being part of the preparatory committee we anticipate a much larger attendance than Celebrate Faith 2013
where we had 1,439 attend.
The response to Celebrate Faith 2013 was so overwhelming and positive that Bishop Parkes decided that this
would be something we would offer every two years. We
are already setting our sights for Celebrate Faith 2017.
This type of event helps us to see the bigger picture of Catholicism. We are not just a parish in a diocese.
At an event such as this we see ourselves and the other
members of our diocese gathered together to be supported
in our faith and support one another in that journey. We
meet Catholics from Pensacola in the west to Perry, FL in
the east.
Please consider participating.
And next...
We’d like to know…
If you have any changes in your physical address,
home/cell phone numbers or email addresses. You can update your status through the Basilica website at
st.michael.ptdiocese.org, click on the membership tab.
We’d also like to know about any pending activities such
as engagements, marriages, births, travel, etc or if you are
simply in need of a “cheery” phone call, please touch base
with our parish membership coordinator Anthea Nader at
850-291-7233 or [email protected]. Anthea and her
team are ready assist us with any need.
