Josh finished 12th overall earning him a trip to Semi-State in Brown County! Congrats to Cory for a great season and Josh on earning another week to compete! (Coach Gansman 10/21) Good luck to the Lady Pioneer volleyball team as they travel to Gibson Southern tonight for their first match of Sectionals against the Princeton Tigers. Both Jv and Varsity teams need to be at BHS this afternoon by 5:00. Bus departs at 5:15. (Coach Rouch 10/21) Congratulations to Ellen Rouch, our senior on the volleyball team, for making the 2014-2015 Academic All-State volleyball team. (Coach Rouch 10/21) All boys’ soccer players who are attending the banquet need to have their forms turned into Mendy Frazier immediately. (Coach Crays 10/21) The Pioneers JV Football lost a tough one Monday night. The Pioneers were down 8 to 0 before freshman Parker Roy blocked the Aces punt and fellow freshman Matt Kroeger scooped and scored to put the Pioneers down 8-6. Mt. Carmel would add a late touchdown in the 2nd quarter to put them up 16 to 8 at the half. The Pioneers fought all night with touchdowns in the 2nd half by Dylan Arriago and Matt Kroeger but it wasn't enough and the Pioneers fell 22-18. The JV Pioneers worked hard this year and improved a lot. Good luck to the Pioneers in the sectionals Friday. (Coach Blankenship 10/21) EXTRA/CO-CURRICULAR & CLUBS: Any FFA member who plans to order a District 10 shirt needs to get the money into Saltzman by Wednesday. This is a change from the original date since the date has been changed at the district level. (Mrs. Saltzman 10/21) Students Katie Batts & Annalyse Seib from AP Environmental Science will be conducting a clothing drive for Hope Central over the next two weeks. We are asking all students and faculty to bring in extra and unwanted clothing, shoes, and accessories to donate. All types of baby equipment are also needed. We are asking each IRP to designate an area of their room to store the clothes until we pick them up. The girls will come around during IRP on the 23, 27, 29, and 31 to collect. Prizes will be awarded to the IRP class that donates the most items. (Mrs. Schnur 10/21 – 24) Play practice for today is cancelled due to the choir concert this evening. Practice will resume as scheduled tomorrow after school. All actors should be completely off book! (Mr. Wadsworth 10/21) Attention all juniors: Are you interested in helping make decisions for this year's prom? If so, sign up for the prom committee! Signup sheets are outside Mrs. Copeland's room 105 and the first meeting will be tomorrow, Oct. 21 during IRP B in room 105. Help us make your junior prom all you want it to be! (Mrs. Copeland 10/20 – 21) Calling all bikers out there! BHS is going to have its own Bike Club! The club’s main focus will be mountain biking, but all other types of bikers are welcome (BMX, Road Riding, etc.) There’ll be regular meetings every Tuesday immediately after school from 3 – 4 PM in Mr. Claycomb’s room, then weekly group rides after the meeting at Scales Lake and just good socializing, and the main goal is to have fun and enjoy being active. If you are interested in joining or just want to know more about it, there is going to be a meeting that gives a brief introduction to what the club is all about Tuesday, October 21 during part C of IRP in Mr. Claycomb’s room 312. You will not be able to attend school unless you have the vaccine done, have an appt date to have the vaccine done or a parent must sign an objection paper at the school.
