Holy Communion
For the Homebound
Our Ministers to the Sick bring the Eucharist to
the homebound and those in care facilities who
are not able to come to Mass. If you or a relative would like the Eucharist brought to your
home or nursing home, please call our Ministry
to the Sick Coordinator, Mary Wresh 748-3639.
If you would like to serve the Lord by bringing
Him to our homebound parishioners, please call
Mary Wresh at 748-3639. Our Ministers to the
Sick attend special training so they are confidently prepared and can focus on the Eucharist
and our parishioner during their visit.
At the Hospital
When you or a loved one is in the hospital,
please inform the staff at registration or later
that you are Catholic and would like to be on
the Catholic list so Chaplains and Ministers to
the Sick know you are there and can visit you.
Anointing of the Sick
If you or a family member is in need of an
anointing of the sick, please call the church office.

What is the Building Fund?
Our Catholic Appeal 2014
Did you know? Your gifts to Our Catholic Appeal
help Catholic schools to remain centers of evangelization.
Here in the Diocese of Orlando, our
37 Catholic schools and 5 preschools
proclaim the Gospel message within
an academic environment of excellence. Students are challenged to be
creative and critical thinkers who integrate faith, moral leadership and
compassionate service in order to create a more just and
humane world.
The Diocesan Office of Catholic Schools, which receives
funding through Our Catholic Appeal, plays a key role in
advancing the mission of our schools. Catechesis, curriculum development, technology support, and teacher certification are just a few of the services that are offered to our
schools as a result of your gifts. Please visit the Office of
Catholic
Schools
website
at
http://
schools.orlandodiocese.org for more information.
Please visit www.cfocf.org/OCA/give to make a gift
online.
Please remember that our parish goal is $336,601. The
pledged amount to date is $285,351 which is 84.8% of
our goal, with 1,217 (50.3%) families participating.
Please consider contributing. Once we have achieved
our goal, the majority of additional funds will be returned to
our parish to support our own local needs. This year, we
will commit our parish over-goal dollars to the building
fund.
Donations received in the second collection, “Building
Fund” are used to support the new church and furnishings, the expansion as well as the future building needs
and renovations for our parish including but not limited
to updating the infrastructure of the existing church and
parking.
Many thanks to those who regularly support the
St. Vincent de Paul Building Fund.
Join the Vivos Christi Society
Vivos Christi Society is our Bishop’s way of celebrating
the generosity of Catholic friends who are providing for
the future of the Church through a planned gift. Have
you remembered your parish, a Catholic school or a ministry of the Diocese of Orlando in your will or estate
plans? If so, Bishop Noonan would welcome the opportunity to honor you as a member. Please contact Ed
Wardle, Director of Donor Relations at 407-246-7193 or
email [email protected].
Save Time and Donate Online!
Our parish now uses an Online Giving system called
WeShare. This allows you to make your donations without
writing a check each week. You can set up a recurring
weekly or monthly payment, allocate different amounts for
our different collections, and view complete, accurate financial records at any time. It saves all of us time and is a
win-win for our parish!
Those who wish to continue to use traditional methods of
offering may do so; however, we ask that you prayerfully
consider Online Giving. If you would like to enroll, please
visit our website and click online contributions. For questions about the program or setting up your account, or for
our help with setting up your donation(s), please don't hesitate to call our parish office at 352-330-0220.

All Souls' Day is a day of pr ayer for deceased Christians, particularly but not exclusively one's relatives that they may “rest in
peace.” The feast involves several beliefs:
that some Christians while dying in peace with
Christ might still need some purification, that
the prayers and good deeds of the living help
those who have died and that there is an intermediate place between heaven and hell. The
Eastern Church has insisted upon the need for growth on seeing God as characteristic of this intermediate state while the
Roman Catholic Church tended to emphasize the penal character of this state. The liturgy itself is the best guide to the meaning of this feast. The liturgical readings point to Christ as the
hope of the living and the dead. The liturgical prayers see the
new life in Christ as God’s promise that enables the Christian
to face death with faith and hope. It is in Western Christianity
the annual celebration is now held on November 2 and is associated with All Saints' Day (November 1). In the liturgical
books of the western Catholic Church or the Latin Church it is
called The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, and
is celebrated annually on November 2, even if this date falls
on a Sunday.
Ultimately the feast complements that of All Saints in proclaiming that all those who love God, whether living or dead,
are united in a living communion with Christ and one another.

Why are the bulletins handed out after Mass? - Befor e and dur ing Mass is a time for r eflection and pr ayer .
Where do we put the Food Pantry Contributions? - Please place your food pantr y contr ibutions in the new
wood bins, with crosses on the lid, at the back of the Narthex. A sign will be placed on it soon for all to see.
There is too much light coming through the windows. - We ar e in the pr ocess of finding the best solution for
the windows. We are looking at having a custom banner made for behind the altar, and window shades on the
four large side windows.
Why are seating sections blocked off? - Pew sections ar e blocked off to assist in the distr ibution of the Eucharist in a reverent and organized manner.

pleased to have you with us at St. Vincent de Paul parish. Looking ahead to
planned meetings and activities for 2014:
CCW continues to support our parish,
our community, and our Orlando diocese. The membership in our ministry works diligently on service projects that affect all of these three levels. If CCW
sounds like a place for you, please join us! Information about CCW can be found on the church website, and in the narthex.

OUTREACH AND FOOD PANTRY
Let us show our beleaguered brothers and sisters that
God does love them by giving them hope and kindness
through generosity. With your donations of food,
checks, and support of Our Mother's Attic, our ministry
is able to provide services to the poor in Wildwood.
When you donate time, food, and purchase items at the
parish retail store, you are helping to improve the lives
of the poor in the surrounding area as well as continuing the work of our parish patron saint, St. Vincent de
Paul.
One of the ways you can bring a neighborhood together
is to collect food at your next social or pick a day to
collect food once a month. People who do this give an
opportunity for neighbors to give food for the poor in
Wildwood. The Outreach and pantry are located at San
Pedro Maldonado Mission Church in downtown Wildwood. Please call 689-0129 prior to delivery for a
volunteer to open the door for you.
With the holidays approaching, many parishioners are
generous with their donations. There is a new box in
the entryway of the church for food donations. Could
you bring in some food monthly? Requested non perishable food includes the following: canned meats including chili, sausages, and stew; 1lb packages of rice,
pinto beans, and pasta; canned fruits including apple
and cranberry sauce; drink mixes; tea bags and hot
chocolate mix; canned vegetables including baked
beans and sweet potatoes; cornbread and muffin mixes;
peanut butter and crackers; boxed mac & cheese;
brownie and cookie mixes; and cereal. Many times the
local markets have the above items on sale. Personal
hygiene and paper products are also appreciated.
Please remember that opened packages and out of
date food cannot be distributed.
According to the 2010 Census, there are 25.7% people
in the country who are living below the poverty level.
Children and seniors who haven't had the employment
opportunities that many retired relocated people had,
are having the battle with hunger in their lives. Your
concern, prayers, and donations make our Ministry
work for the poor.
Thank you for your support.
