Position: To provide Project Management expertise for technology deployments on a contract basis. Implementation projects include Unified Communications, Contact Centre, Networking and Connectivity solutions. Overview This position requires 5+ years of information technology experience that includes a broad understanding of IT infrastructure including VoIP conversions within organizations with 500+ Users. Candidates should have 5+ years progressive experience as a project manager that includes managing implementations of medium to large moderately complex to complex projects across WAN/LAN/Wireless WLAN and VoIP tracks. The candidate should possess a strong customer focus and excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to monitor and manage vendor performance; and excellent relationship building and management skills. Ability to work in a dynamic corporate environment. Self starter - ability to self manage and prioritize initiatives. Preferred skills for this role include: Broad understanding of infrastructure upgrade projects gained through professional services consulting and/or project management; project management of at least one large-scale infrastructure project or large-scale company-wide network infrastructure initiative; and a demonstrated costumer focus. General understanding and experience with Canadian Telcos Voice & Data Networks migrations is preferred. Required Skills: 1) Requires 5+ years of information technology experience that includes a broad understanding of IT infrastructure. 2) 5+ years progressive experience as a project manager that includes managing the implementations of medium to large moderately complex to complex projects. 3) Strong customer focus and excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to monitor and manage vendor performance; and excellent relationship building and management skills 4) Broad understanding of network technologies and infrastructure related items such as MPLS, Cisco, Nortel, Avaya, and other VoIP Systems, and other voice recording systems, network topology, IP telephony and VoIP rollouts, dispersed networks, integration of voice and data networks, horizontal and data cabling infrastructure and design, site surveys, wireless survey and validations, routers/switches, fiber infrastructure, and other WAN/LAN/WLAN, and VoIP related infrastructure technologies. Desired skills: 1) Broad understanding of network infrastructure and network topology projects gained through professional services consulting and/or project management. 2) Project management of at least one large-scale network infrastructure project or large-scale company-wide infrastructure initiative (Scope, Schedule, & Budget) 3) Demonstrated costumer focus 4) General understanding of the Canadian Telecom Industry 5) Requires experience project managing a team of at least 5-10 people 6) This position will require project managing multiple projects at various stages concurrently. 7) Project manager will be responsible for managing projects within Canada and may need to support a small number of projects Global Reach. 8) Project manager will use their own vehicle for travel between sites when required. Daily Responsibilities: 1) Provide project management for project team members, set achievable objectives, maintain a positive outlook, take responsibility, make decisions, and provide constructive feedback. 2) Build, track and monitor project plan(s) using MS Project to ensure that the project is on schedule and budget and that it remains so. 3) Define and document project scope and requirements and manage the project funding/budget process 4) Ensure project data is accurate and available for review by management and unsure that management is proactively informed of potential problems and risks so that they can be mitigated or resolved before they become insurmountable. 5) Utilize a pro-active change control process 6) Track Daily Activities/Time in ERP System and monitor projects for change orders and new jobs available for assignment.
