WORLD MISSION SUNDAY
This Sunday, World Mission Sunday,
our Holy Father, Pope Francis, calls
every Catholic to celebrate at the
Eucharist, our vocation to be
missionary and to help the
Missions. As Catholics around the world, here at
home and in the Missions, gather at the Eucharistic
table, let us pray for the Church’s worldwide mission
and offer financial help through the Propagation of
the Faith for more than 1,150 dioceses in Asia,
Africa, Latin America and the Pacific
Islands. Thank you for your generosity.

This weekend, the second collection is for World
Mission Sunday.
Next weekend, the second collection is a special
collection to assist those suffering because of the
violence and persecution in the Middle East.
All Souls Day is the day of remembrance in our
novena of Masses for our beloved deceased family
members, friends, and all who sacrificed their lives
in war and civil service. Please return your
envelopes on time so your beloved can be
remembered in the novena of Masses. Additional
All Souls envelopes may be found in the vestibule of
the church.
ALL SAINTS DAY, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1st
All Saints Day will be on Saturday, November 1st
this year. Since it falls on a Saturday this year it is
not a Holy Day of Obligation, however we will have
an additional mass in Polish at 7PM as well as the
regularly scheduled masses at 7:30AM or 5PM in
English.

OCTOBER DEVOTION
The
Rosary
and
Benediction of Blessed
Sacrament will continue
throughout October every Wednesday at 7:00PM in
English, and every Friday, at 7:00PM in Polish. All
are encouraged to attend. Also, we encourage you to
say the Rosary with your family, at least one decade
a day.
SANCTUARY FLOWERS
The flowers decorating our Sanctuary
this weekend are in loving memory of
+ William Zaluski from his wife,
Joan B. Zaluski. Thank you for the
beautiful flowers. Eternal rest grant to
him, O’ Lord.
STIPENDS NEEDED FOR MASSES
There are various mass openings in December. Also
the new Mass Book for the Year of the Lord,
2015, is available. Please note that dates are given
out on a first come, first serve basis. If there are
dates that are close to your heart, please stop by the
rectory and reserve those dates as soon as possible.

SCHOOL NEWS
The community of Our Lady of the Hamptons will
celebrate the week of the Young Child by
welcoming visitors and interested prospective
families to visit the pre-school program at St.
Rosalie’s campus in Hampton Bays on Tuesday and
Wednesday, October 21 and 22 between 10AM11:30.
Parents of prospective kindergarten students (must
be 5 years old prior to November 30, 2015) will be
welcomed to visit the new kindergarten facilities at
the Main campus 160 N Main Street, Southampton
throughout the week of October 19. Please call
ahead 283-9140.
The annual Bucks for Books campaign to support
the programs at OLH has had an early start. The
raffle, with ten prizes ranging from $500 to $20,000
will be determined on January 31, 2015. Tickets are
available at the school now.
We invite parishioners and friends to learn more
about Our Lady of the Hamptons by visiting the

COMMUNION BREAKFAST
The Friends of the Seminary of the Immaculate
Conception, 440 West Neck Road, Huntington,
invite you to the Annual Friends Communion
breakfast on Sunday, October 26, 2014. Mass at
10AM followed by brunch in the rectory. Celebrant
and speaker will be Bishop Andrzej Zglejszewski,
Auxiliary Bishop of Rockville Centre. RSVP by

WORLD YOUTH DAY KRAKOW 2016
In July 2016, the young Church of our Diocese will
be joining millions of other young people from
around the world as they journey together on a
pilgrimage to Krakow, Poland for World Youth Day.
Pilgrimages are available through the Diocese
beginning July 24 - August 2, 2016 for $3,849 from
New York, including airfare. Other packages are
also available.
If you are interested in attending, please attend a
meeting on October 22, 2014 at 7:30 in St. Agnes
Parish Center to hear more about this pilgrimage.

MEMORIAL BRICKS
A memorial brick is a great gift for a wedding, birth,
living or deceased memorial and more. Many
visitors and neighbors have commented about how
nice it looks having all of our memorial bricks
around the Blessed Mother. Thank you for your
support of this program, and please note that this
program will be ongoing. A memorial brick costs
$100 dollars. Forms are available in the church.
LONG ISLAND CATHOLIC

DAY TRIP TO SHRINE,CLOISTERS & MOMA
St. Isidore Church is sponsoring a one day trip on
Wednesday, October 22nd for $66. The trip
includes:
Mass at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Shrine,
Admission to The Cloisters Museum & Gardens,
Admission to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and
Deluxe Motorcoach Transportation. The bus will
depart St. Isidore Church in Riverhead at 7AM and
return at approximately 7PM. Call 727-2114 for

RECTORY OFFICE HOURS
Please note during the school year the rectory will be
open on Monday - Friday from 12PM - 3PM. If you
would like a mass card, dedicate mass intentions or
flowers, receive a baptismal certificate or any other
business matter, please stop by or call during these
hours. If these hours are not convenient for you,
call the rectory at 631-283-0667, we would be happy
to schedule an appointment with you.

FEAST DAY FOR BLESSED JOHN PAUL II
Traditionally, the feast of a saint is held on “dies
natalis,” which is the day of one's death or their
“arrival in heaven.” John Paul II died on April 2 but
that day usually falls during Holy Week. To
guarantee the day will be solemnly celebrated every
year, the Vatican has decided his day of liturgical
memory will be on October 22, the Anniversary day
of the Mass for the inauguration of his pontificate.
Prayer of Pope Saint John Paul II for Peace:
Immaculate Heart of Mary, help us to conquer the
menace of evil, which so easily takes root in the
hearts of the people of today, and whose
immeasurable effects already weigh down upon our
modern world and seem to block the paths toward
the future.
From famine and war, deliver us. From nuclear war,
from incalculable self destruction, from every kind
of war, deliver us. From sins against human life from
its very beginning, deliver us. From hatred and from
the demeaning of the dignity of the children of God,
deliver us. From readiness to trample on the
commandments of God, deliver us. From the loss of
awareness of good and evil, deliver us. From sins
against the Holy Spirit, deliver us.
Accept, O’ Mother of Christ, this cry laden with the
sufferings of all individual human beings, laden with
the sufferings of whole societies. Help us with the
power of the Holy spirit conquer all sin: individual
sin and “sin of the world,” sin in all its
manifestations.
Let there be revealed once more in the history of the
world the infinite saving power of the redemption:
the power of the merciful love. May it put a stop to
evil. May it transform consciences. May your
Immaculate Heart reveal for all the light of hope.

7:15AM before the 7:30AM daily mass Monday

Our Lady of Poland parishioners attend religious
education at Sacred Hearts on Hill St. Classes are
off to a great start. If you haven’t already registered
your child or if you have any questions, contact Jen
Ferrantino, Director of Religious Education.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
The Knights of Columbus is an
international, fraternal, family and
charitable organization looking for new
members. Locally the Knights jointly
serves the parishes of Sacred Hearts and Our Lady of
Poland. They donate to both churches, Boy and Girl
Scouts, Right to Life and many other local charities.
