Granada Hills Recreation Center is involved in a
City sponsored program called “Raise the Bar.”
The objective of this program is to promote and
provide sports opportunities to girls & women.
Our goal at Granada Hills Recreation Center is
to increase girls’ & women’s participation in
sports activities by providing a variety of choices
in sports programming.
Granada Hills Recreation Center offers youth
sports, clinics, classes, adult leagues, camp &
sports camp, all of which provide opportunities
for girls & women of all ages to develop sports
skills & participate in sports activities.
“Raise the Bar” also provides mentoring
opportunities by staffing our activities with
female referees, scorekeepers, sports specialist,
coaches & counselors.

Fingerprinting
All volunteers that participate at Granada Hills Recreation Center must be
fingerprinted by the Department of Recreation and Parks.
Please read the following information carefully. A review of the registration procedures will assist with a successful registration process.
IMPORTANT DATES
GENERAL INFORMATION: Walk-in registration for
all classes will begin when the Granada Hills Recreation Center
opens at 9:00am on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Registration
will continue until a class fills. Payment in full may be made by cash,
check, Visa, or Mastercard. Cash must be in exact amount.
Checks are to be made payable to “City of L.A. Department of
Recreation and Parks”. Check must contain name & address
printed by the bank. Valid drivers license and/or picture ID
required for all checks. A collection fee will be charged for each
check returned by the bank. Class fees will NOT be prorated.
Class must be paid in full at time of registration.
Staff reserves the right to cancel or combine classes if minimum
enrollment is not met by October 6, 2014. Students must meet
the class age requirements by the session start date. Staff reserves
the right to require proof of age at any time. It is the parent’s
responsibility to get the child to class without phone notice from
the Recreation Center. Make-ups will not be scheduled when class
is missed by a student. No refunds and/or credits are given for
classes missed. Make-ups for holidays or classes canceled by the
instructor will be scheduled at the end of the session.
Neither the City of Los Angeles nor Granada Hills Recreation
Center carries insurance! Patrons must carry their own insurance.
All information in the brochure is subject to change without prior
notice. The classes & programs in this brochure may be
subject to cancellation.
REFUND POLICY: Full refunds are only issued when the
Recreation Center cancels the activity. A 15% cancellation fee is
assessed for all refunds. Changes or transfers per class, sports
league or day camp registration may be assessed additional fees.
After the first day of a session, the Recreation Center issues a
partial refund to patrons withdrawing from the activity. Please
allow 6-8 weeks for processing of all refunds.

Nothing will cancel a good class faster than waiting until the last
minute to register. If a class does not meet it’s minimum
number of students by the start of a class session it runs the risk
of being cancelled before it begins!
ONLINE REGISTRATION: Spaces for any class (with the
exception of piano & guitar) will be available for online
registration Monday, September 1, 2014 at 12:01am through
Monday, September 30, 2014 at 11:59pm. A limited number of
spaces for each class are available for online registration. Once
these spaces fill, patrons will need to register in person.

1.Go to www.laparks.org/dos/reccenter/facility/GranadaHillsRC.htm and click “Online Activity Catalog” under Facility Hours of Operation.
2. Choose Granada Hill RC and click “GO” located to the right of the park name.
3. Click the button next to “Browse the Entire Activities Catalog” (this will bring up a page with every current and upcoming activity offered at this site).
4. Find the activity you would like to register for and click “ADD ITEM”. To add another activity click on “ADD ITEM”, otherwise “CHECK OUT”.
5. New Customer - type in your (the payer’s) birthday in this format: MM/DD/YYYY (ex. 01/01/1970). ALWAYS enter the slashes. Then click “GO”.
Existing Customer - type in your username & password. If you don’t remember it, click “Forgot your Username or Password?” and it will be emailed to
you.
6. To add another participant, click on “New Participant” and enter their information.
7. In the next screen, click on the name in the participant box who will be registered for the activity. To register multiple participants for the same
activity, hold down the “CTRL” button on your keyboard and select all of the names. NOTE: If a participant is not the proper age it will not let
you register for the activity. Click “NEXT” when you are done.
8. Enter your credit card number (with no spaces or dashes) as well as the expiration date. We only accept VISA or MASTERCARD. Once
again, make sure your billing address for that specific card matches with the address on the screen. When you are done click “NEXT”. This
may take up to a few minutes to complete the process. DO NOT click on “NEXT” more than once (this could result in multiple charges).
9. Don’t forget to print your receipt.
TO COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROCESS, please come to the office and fill out the registration form!!

CONSENT: By registering I understand that I give my authorization to participate in the Granada Hills Recreation Center programs and all activities therein.
I further agree to relieve the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks, its officers, agents, and employees from any liability for injury to myself
or my child(ren) resulting from and/or in connection with the activities in its programs. I understand the Recreation Center CARRIES NO INSURANCE. I do
hereby authorize the City of Los Angeles to act as agent for myself/my child(ren): to consent to any x-ray examination, anesthetic, medical or surgical
diagnosis, treatment/hospital care which is deemed advisable by, and is to be rendered under the general or special supervision of any physician and/or
surgeon licensed under the provisions of the Medical Practice Act & on the medical staff of a licensed hospital; whether such diagnosis or treatment is
rendered at the office of said physician or at said hospital. This authorization is given in advance of any specific consent. This authorization shall remain
effective for the duration of the program, unless revoked sooner in writing and delivered to said agent.
PHOTO RELEASE: By registering I agree to allow the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks and the Granada Hills Recreation Center to
use photographs, video tapes, and testimonials of participants for use in publicity materials free of any fee or usage charge. As it is difficult to pull
individuals out of photographs & film, I understand that there is not an options for myself or my child(ren) to be excluded.
REFUND POLICY: Full refunds are only issued when the Recreation Center cancels the activity. A 15% cancellation fee is assessed for all refunds.
Changes or transfers per class, sports league or day camp registration may be assessed additional fees. After the first day of a session, the Recreation
Center issues a partial refund to patrons withdrawing from the activity. Please allow 6-8 weeks for processing of all refunds. Credits or make-ups will not be
given for classes missed by the patron.
