YOUTH EXCHANGE 2nd – 11th December 2014 Slănic Moldova, ROMANIA The project aim is to educate the virtual dimension of young people and the promotion of social responsibility among them. The main activity will be a Youth Exchange to be held in Slanic Moldova, ROMANIA, between 2nd and 11th December 2014. PROJECT OBJECTIVES Connect Yourself aims to  promote the responsible and active European citizenship and the concept of social responsibility on the Internet among the participants;  promote and identify relevant measures for personal, social and professional security on the Internet among participants;  develop the creativity and the digital skills of the participants;  develop visual tools to promote the social responsibility on the Internet and online safety; project topics and highlights participants profile The project will involve 7 countries, 6 participants per partner (5 young people with the age between 16 and 25 years old and 1 group leader – no age limit). Gender balance: Each group will be formed by 3 boys and 3 girls project calendar and partners role in every each project phase Preparation phase 01.10 – 01.12.2014 Youth exchange 02 – 11.12.2014 Intermediary Evaluation 12 – 20.12.2014 The selection of the participants according to the participant’s profile. Support the participants in preparing the travel (buying tickets, visa (if you need visa for traveling in Romania), health insurance, etc.) Preparation of the participants (setting the learning objectives, support the participants in documenting about the social media context in your country, inform the participants about the cultural differences, etc.) Getting the parental agreement for the underage participants You will be represented in the project with 5 participants and 1 group leader. You will get involved in monitoring the participants learning objectives. You will get involved in the evaluation of the youth exchange. Your group will be responsible of organizing an intercultural night. So bring your national food and drink and prepare an activity plan with games, traditional songs and dances. You will get involved in the intermediary evaluation of the project. Organize one dissemination conference with your volunteers and youth from your community. More about Slănic Moldova (the place where the Youth Exchange will be held) Slănic Moldova is situated on the eastern slope of the Eastern Carpathians (the mountain Nemira) at a height of 530 m on the valley Slănic. The city takes place in a depression covered with deciduous and coniferous forests. Slănic-Moldova, a city in eastern Romania (Bacau County) located Slănic River (a tributary of Trotus) at Nemira Mountains (Eastern Carpathians), elevation 530 m, in a valley surrounded by forests of beech and fir, the 84 km southwest of the city of Bacau (Bacau county). The resort is famous for its springs of carbonate, bicarbonate, slightly sulfurous, chlorinated, sodium, hypertonic, hypotonic and oligo springs discovered in 1801. In 1852 the first chemical tests were performed, and in 1877 were first spa facilities. The fortress is situated on the border between Transylvania and Wallachia, on DN73. Commonly known as "Dracula's Castle, it is marketed as the home of the titular character in Bram Stoker's Dracula. The castle is now a museum open to tourists, displaying art and furniture collected by Queen Marie. Tourists can see the interior individually or by a guided tour. At the bottom of the hill is a small open air museum park exhibiting traditional Romanian peasant structures (cottages, barns, etc.) from across the country. More about Brasov Braşov has a population of 283,901 and is the 7th largest city in Romania. It is located almost in the center of the country and surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains. The city provides a mix of wonderful mountain scenery in the nearby Poiana Braşov and medieval history with German influences in the old town. The city is 176 km from Bucharest. Braşov is up there with Sinaia and the surrounding mountain resorts as the most visited city in Transylvania, Romania, and this is something that's not in vain. Braşov boasts everything from dynamic modern city life to old world charm and fascinating scenery. Also, it's pleasant to have some of the extras as well, including some of the best cleanliness records in the country, great transport and great food. Even though it's a bit overpriced for Romanian standards, especially in the high season, Braşov is definitely worth it.
